it has more to do with the fact that you might have an error during download due to a microsecond stutter on your internet connection or also an error when installing it due to the way that windows writes info on the hard drives, the issue will most commonly happen when an update has to replace a big file within the game (something MK11 does sadly)
is not really a game issue and files verification is recommended to every pc game after installing an update regardless of the platform (steam, origin, uplay, etc)
use a torrent for example, there's always going to be corrupted data when downloading, it can be 1byte or 5mb but it will show and error ALWAYS
It's still interesting how I've had issues with every MK11 update, and absolutely no issues with other games, some of which even updates 2-3 times a day.
