you might be able go get away with 1 keyboard and 1 controller, but not 2 on 1 keyboard, sadly the "game indistry" thinks its a dead concept

You are going to have a real problem with TWO people playing on a keyboard because of the number of keys pressed down at once won't register due to certain keys sharing the same circuit. This is called the N-key rollover (NKRO). 6 key rollover is the standard on most keyboards. It all depends on the manufacturer and how they mapped the keys.

I haven't even began discussing how annoying it'd be to be bumping elbows against your opponent! Two people on one keyboard IS a dead concept because there are SO MANY options out there that are more preferable.

How about not being so cheap and just invest in a $20 USB controller?

I think you won't be able to get 100% all the fancy combos, but on a very light-hearted, casual play -- might work.

At least, that's how we played MK1-2 back in 1994 ;)

But are you going to actually try playing this game with 2 players on 1 keyboard first -- before you buy the controller?
I'm actually curious about the results )
