Funny thing the Dev said that as a fighter I 100% disagree less clothes on the safer i am nothing to grab onto to hold or get me to the ground or choke me with a collar of a jacket or top. Also MK has gods fighting and shooting lightening not realistic at all haha

Actually, women pro fighters don't wear all that much clothing. The problem isn't that there isn't sex appeal in the game, it's that all the character design looks stupid as F; it looks like if homeless people tried to do cosplay costumes with scraps they found from a dumpster, making it an eyesore. I still bought the game anyway, but I think most of the character design aesthetics look literally like trash, hence the dumpster remark. Old school Lui Kang looks fine for example, Scorpion looks like he's wearing gutter roofing he tore off his house for shinpads and stuff, i really cannot stress how ridiculous this character design is, it's not even anymore realistic than the earlier MK games still. Hopefully the game will be modable and some community members will do our favorite characters actual justice assuming there's not actual good designs to unlock within the game.

I loved Sonya in MK9. She was imo the depiction of a strong empowering woman, who was not afraid of showing skin. It was like she knew she was a military commander, yet also a woman who was proud of her beauty. That she could command troops in that outlandish outfit was quite alluring.

I rightfully cannot get behind a company who thinks it is thier job to dictate what a woman can or cannot wear. A company who believes that women with gorgeous bodies and showing skin is trashy and those who cover themselves up are respectful.
This is also a slap in the face of cosplayers who routinely dress up in the revealing costumes of MK9 which leads to free PR of the game. The fact that NRS believes these women need to be covered up, undergo breast reduction is everything that I stand for. You do NOT tell a women what to do or wear. Period.

The revealing costumes in MK9 demonstrated the attitude and empowerment of the women that they were not afraid of a man seeing their skin. This was very admirable. MK9 ladies like Sonya, Kitana and Jade not only looked amazing, they were the epitome of female empowerment.

In fights, it's actually better to wear less clothing, to make for more flexible movement, and give your opponent less things to grab onto. So, that statement is not even very accurate in the first place.
