Trailer Song
Why is it rap and not metal or something similar? Mortal Kombat is ♥♥♥♥ing brutal I don't think of people doing drive-by's or selling drugs while playing the series... The OG Mortal Kombat can also just be used by every game too!

MK always seemed like a hip hop or 90s industrial rock game to me.

That Song would have better suited a Def Jam Vendetta reboot fighter.

I personally have a very low opinion on rap with so much of the crap that come out not even rhyming anymore. there are good songs like there are in nearly any genre, I personally refuse to judge songs based on context and message, because if you fail at any point before that its worthless to me, so for all I know this song has a powerful message and is resonating with people. but to me...

The MKX trailer had a song that sounds like it's perfect for a sub zero scorpion fight. especially with how one sided it looks, the first words where it said 'your not my competition'
great use of a song

The MKXI trailer, it has about 3-5 seconds of a song that could go into a fight song, but then it raps about guns like and sounds like its not even worth his time saying the words. look, you want melodic haze, snoop dogg is the only one I have ever heard do that well, everyone else fails usually at the point where while snoop sounds like he wants to make a song, they sound like they resent the fact they had to get out of bed to make a song that day.

- Song in a trailer sucks
- As much as i love death metal (and CC's "Only one will die" just a song i feel like MK inspired) but i think it is not fit the genre
- Remember Reptile's fight scene from a first movie ? That was badass fight with fitting music

I can't stand pop/rap. It all sounds the exact same. Why did they put a dumbass rap song in the trailer? It sounded terrible. It was good til that stupid crap. (Big face palm) I can think of so many metal songs or better yet they could of put in a really cool sounding orchestra piece in and it would have been fine. SMH big time.

Exactly this. Spot on.

I stopped watching and turned the trailer off as soon as I heard the song for five seconds. It was jarring and completely ruins the trailer, not to mention it just does not fit two powerful beings stabbing and beating the ♥♥♥♥ out of each other.

listen to the game sound tracks, metal, at least something with lyrics, would either need to be made around a scene or choreographed to the music to really be good, meanwhile generic techno/synth/club/dance music can fit a fight scene with very little need to choreograph perfectly

The main staple of the fight music, it has to be interruptible and not detract from gameplay, you cant want the fight to last just a bit longer because that one part you like in the song is coming up.

granted this kind of music does not make for a good trailer, because a lot of what makes a triller good is the music its set to almost more so then the visuals, a key point being saints row 3's trailer

or another one, dishonored

there are a few other trailers I know based on the music more so then I remember the game, but its hard thinking of them... Oh, in for the kill bayonetta.

just saying the trailer music needs to be something memorable, this will just be remembered as one of the worst songs to put in a trailer in a few years time if it's remembered at all, something the MKX trailer for me is still good for.

I think its to appease the large amount of Africans in the fighting game community, However much Rap does not fit the Classic Mortal Kombat genre.

I doubt the game will have any sort of Rap anyway.

It probably wont. steam is changing their policy for big names, so they get a bigger cut, but mk11 will die on pc entirely if its on epic, that storefront is as of yet proven, and I refuse to buy games on it. steam, while they may pull games, has always allowed people to keep and download the games, and in the event they 100% remove everything, reimburse people for said games. till epic pulls a game, we wont know how they handle anything, so I refuse to buy a game on a platform that's not steam or gog.

My understanding of how games on pc sell, the only reason you sell on your own platform exclusively is if you are a big enough name to demand it... epic has a chance to rival steam, but right now its the fortnite platform that's giving games away for free, its not something people go to and use because they want to, but because they have to.
