They modelled Sub-Zero's beard under his mask so there's hope. Why do that if you can't take their masks off in customization?
Edit: Nevermind. I saw that they didn't even bother to model a beard under Scropion's mask...
Gutted.
-There are speculations that Cassie is dead and Sonya wears her dog tags.
-Liu Kang will be there 99.999%.
-Kung Lao will be there 99.5 %.
-Rain might be in since he were shown once or twice during cinematics I think and were very demanded. We cannot be sure however. Some characters were already shown on cutscenes, static storytelling screens, as unplayable bosses or as unplayable story mode opponents in previous Mortal Kombat games.
-In MK9 Kabal were more overpowered than MvCI 1.0 Dante.
-Johny Kage were in all MK games so his chances best.
So far there is no word or proper sign of:
-Kotal Khan (probably best newcomer to MK series after MK1-3).
-Onaga.
-Chameleon.
There was a big backlash for him after seing him as an unplayable NPC in MKX.
Someone even made a petition which kinda worked, and NRS almost made him as a free DLC, but ran out of time.
I don't really know what to think about him since he is showing on the f*** menu with a brand new outfit, and Sonic Fox kinda teased him.
But he is also a modifier, which usually means = unplayable.
I refuse to believe they are going to make him YET AGAIN, an unplayable NPC.
That would be really cruel for his fans.

WHO WILL IT BE?
What makes me hopefull for Rain, is his new outfit.
Yes I know he had one in MKX and ended up as NPC.
But that means Rain is at the very least NPC again, otherwise he would not have that new costume.
But unplayable NPC for story mode two times in a row ? Despite all the complains of the fans ?
Heck I don't believe that, not a second.
Sorry to repeat myself, but I'm going nuts with that character I want since MKX...
Kano is on the main menu fighiting either sonya or cassie cage. So hes a pretty good chance. Johnny is also pretty much confirmed. Ive heard that Shao Kahn is actually number 26. Jade is probably a pretty good chance due to fan demand and her having weapons. Nightwolf is also probably in due to his weapons. Probably 2 more new characters, ermac,erron balck are probably good picks as well. I read a interveiw where a nrs employee was asked"Will there be secret unlockable characters" the answer to that was"yes there will be secret chracters,sure"
So maybe we have a bigger roster then 26.
Also Ive seen some people bring up npc's. Ed said in a interview that there would be 1.No lootbox's or pay to win, 2. No npc fights(so if you fight someone you can unlock them) 3. No Khrome plus a famous face is in the game
Also a pro player had Jade as his main, like Rain for Sonic Fox, so meaybe that's a tease ?
I have no doubt she will come back anyway.
I personnaly doubt Reptile, Ermac and Tremor come back.
I think they will be replace by Smoke, Rain and Noob Saibot.
We certainely can't have too many ninjas, so a rotation is needed.
Reptile alwready have stuff against him: Baraka is using his VA, Skarlet has his slow ball, devs in en interview mentionned he was a nostalgic modifier ( so is Rain, but the word "nostalgic" for Reptile makes me think he will sit out for this game).
As for Ermac, Raiden has his levitation move, and maybe other characters will borrow more (like Shang Tsung ?).
Geras has Tremor and Jax moves apprently.
I'm betting that characters from MKX will leave their place for returnees that missed the boat the last time, for a rotation of fighters.

I'm not too sure about D'Vorah, she could be replace by Fujin or an other one I listed in DLC.

Julaybib has a gaming community chat group where he directs people on it to control and post in other steam discussions. Moderators would know this with a cursory investigation too.
Even if that is true, think about how you feel excluded and not listened to... and now picture every person living in a place where they aren't considered "status quo."
No matter how smart you are, you are showing more and more a lack of empathy -- giving you no grounds with which to criticise anyone different than you are (which is literally everyone else).
I would be suprised as well, was just letting the posibility out that maybe we get lucky. if its only one chracter its going to be kronika as the unlockable.
Ive heard that Shao Kahn is not one of the 25, that he is the 26. I think it was ed boon who said it, but I cant confirm that one.
How was smoke on the list of semi confirmed?
I think Frost has more of a chance of being a premier skin for subzero then a actuall character. However the fact that sub zero doesent have ice clone now, might suggest maybe frost is a possibility.
