[FIX] Disconnecting Issue
OK I had this problem with servers since launch and I was desperately digging the internet to find a solution for disconnecting issue and finally found someone who actually managed to find a fix for this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ server problem. I've done it and I can confirm that it really worked! And I've been playing for 5 straight hours and not a single disconnect! So here's the simple solution:

1- Windows + R
2- Type CMD and hit Enter
3- Type "IPCONFIG"
4- Look for IPv4 Address and copy the IP
5- Go to your router settings and look for DMZ Host or something like that
6- Paste that IP and apply and reset your modem.
7- Enjoy the game!

Kudos to dings1337 for his magical solution!

Thanks :) Today I installed the game and exactly every 7 minutes and 40 seconds I had a problem with the connection and the game still wanted me to start it again. Thanks to this guide, game do not disconnect (at least this has not happened yet). I will try it on yet another game in which I have a similar problem for several years. Let the creators fix it in the next patch.

DMZ is not safe, don't do it!

Why is it not safe? If it is not safe then what else should I do to be able to play normally?

Of course DMZ is safe, no problem. We can let only Windows firewall do the thing. IT professional here.

So far this solution is working for me. Been playing an hour without getting booted. Thanks!

DMZ means your router will no longer block connections on any port coming to that PC. If this fixes anybody's issue it means your router is blocking a port a Steam needs to work. The only port I have for steam that is forwarded to my pc is TCP 27036 and I have had no issues with the server in about 20hrs of gameplay (most of them straight in the same day).

For more information on steam's ports , check this :

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=8571-GLVN-8711

Most routers have a feature called UPnP, which will allow steam to set the ports it needs on its own , without user interaction. It is not always activated by default in a router because it is a dangerous feature (any program/virus can set the port it needs in your router without you knowing). So , some users have their port automatically forwarded without their knowing, others like me have forwarded their ports long ago, and others have to fix their issues just now..

DMZ is a fix , but port forwarding would be the real solution.

Thanks for clarifying things!

Of course there could be numerous other reasons why it disconnects. DMZ/Port forwarding is not the only thing between you and the server that could block you. Windows' firewall could be blocking you, any anti-virus could be playing a role and might have a firewall of its own, your router itself might be old and have issues with keeping the bandwidth without interruption, your ISP might be at fault by not having a good latency with the server, the servers themselves could be under performing or very picky about latency.. And all the other scenarios that don't come to mind right now.. Ruling out port forwarding is always the first step. Good luck!

Does anyone know how to apply DMZ host, i really need help. I can figure out most of it but can get this one thing done. My games always disconnect and have been that way for two years. My internet works perfect on any other game and otherwise.

Any help on this would be appreciated

Hi! Just google it. Search for your router model and how to find DMZ host since every router has different settings and tabs. When you find it, just follow what I said on the first post and you should be fine.
