No Sexy Female Characters/Default Costumes is Bad, Among Other Problems

The fact that such a long-time USP of the franchise has been completely culled in both this and the previous installment is indicative of its downfall, and one key reason why I, among others, will not be purchasing the game.

However, I'm saying this not as a newcomer who has only recently heard of the game, but as a long-time fan who has also been a loyal customer for many years.

I purchased all the 6th gen titles back when they were still relevant, going so far as to buy MK: A for both PS2 and Xbox - new, not used - just so I could have more KAF options, all while Midway was in dire straits back in the 2000's. Additionally, I made plenty of fan contributions over the years, even after Midway went under, to keep the fire that is MK alive.

Then MK9 came out, and it had everything - sexy female characters, some of the best gameplay in the series (Even if it did lift a fair share of mechanics from SF3), and possibly the greatest roster in the entire franchise, falling between UMK3 and MKT in terms of both quantity and quality. I purchased the PS3 version for the platform-exclusive Kratos, and went so far as to purchase and download all the DLC (I was especially excited for Rain, and I was very pleased with how he and the game turned out).

Keyword: Was.

After that, MKX came out, and I could not care less for it because of the advertisements, culling of sexy female characters, ugly visuals, immediate-purchase DLC Fatalities, odd animations and gameplay, and severely truncated roster. This is to say nothing of the unappealing new characters.

Needless to say, I passed over this title; there were definitely bad MK games before and this seemed to be no exception. I was willing to give the franchise another chance with this next installment.

And then the first trailer came out.

I immediately knew from there that the game was going to be horrendous when you couldn't even get music that matched the tone, pace, and rhythm of not just MK as a whole, but the trailer content itself. Despite my misgivings towards MKX, it at least had a good trailer going for it, indicating some effort was put into it.

On top of that, MK11 has a paltry initial roster - easily the worst one since Deadly Alliance - ugly design and visuals still, a complete lack of sexy female characters and outfits, worse animations and gameplay, and money-filching lootboxes scattered throughout that make the bad visual design of the game somehow even worse, all at players' (A.k.a. customers') expense. It's clear that additional characters are in the game, and there's no excuse for them not being playable.

There should be no stopping short for a franchise that was built on being risque, going so far as to establish the ESRB - there needs to be more gore, more sexy female characters and outfits than ever before, and everything in between. Long-time players such as myself deserve more, as we are the key reason why this franchise has made it this far.


In summary:

The lack of sexy female characters and outfits is indicative of the game's and franchise's many problems, and I believe I speak for all players and customers who have contributed to the franchise's success over the years, even in its darkest hour, that the franchise needs to make a complete 180 back in the proper direction, as was the case with MK9. We are being ripped off in many different ways, and we deserve better.

Until then, WB and NRS, you have just lost one of many loyal customers, and I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I've just had wasted enough time arguing on such topics. They're just a bunch of sexists and neo-puritans. NRS and the mods of this forum just proved it. This is clear they will not add anything that would show skins.

To be clear, there is not one outfit even resembling a bhurka in-game, and to suggest that there will be is a slippery slope fallacy at the best of times. Saying that the devs oppress women by hiding their skin because temptation is a mischaracterization of why they did it at best and a blatant lie to serve your argument at worst.

I try to write something fast and short before deletion.

New direction is too modest for me, wishing optional skimpier options and I don't mind if male characters have those too because I don't have to use them.

Too little variation, too much recoloring, not enough control to personalize your character, no customization for costumes.

I summarized OP's stance the best and easiest way I saw fit, yes. Because they're literally going on and on about "SEXY female characters". So you know, sex appeal is important to this person, and the first thing that comes to mind is boobs. I'm into women too, I'm not sorry for saying boobs are sexy.

Whether I would like to live in the Middle East or not is completely beside the point and doesn't adress the issue at all. At ALL. Do you actually have arguments, or are you just going to continue with the irrelevant questioning and ad hominems?

They claim the series is going downhill, and the lack of sexy women is the main indicator of that. Allegedly.
