Fix for Hitbox/Fightstick causing crashes?
Whenever I try to launch the game with my hitbox plugged in, it crashes.

If I start the game with it unplugged, the game launches. But if I plug it back in, it crashes immediately.

Others have stated they experienced the same with their arcade sticks.

I sent to WB support but don't have high optimism.

Does anyone have a fix or suggestions for this?

So here's the thing. I'm also experiencing this exact same issue, however it only started happening after the patch on 26/04/19. I immediately contacted WB support and over a week later I've only received one response in which they told me to try and run the game in a clean boot environment to see if the issue persists. Well it did persist and it's been 4 days since I responded to them. I've hit up their twitter and submitted another response to my ticket but they're being very stonewall about this whole thing.

I too started experiencing this after the patch on the 26th, though I always have a stick plugged in so i didn't realize it seemed to be the cause.

Thanks for pointing this out, Ive had a super long crash free session now just by switching my stick from ps4 to ps3 mode (Razer Panthera)

Ill come post again if I end up crashing and it was a red herring

I am wondering if the touch pad on the ps4 stick could be causing some nastiness? That thing always seems like a hotbed for issues with how badly Steam seems to want to bind it to mouse functions.

I've had no issues using a home-made Hitbox based on the Brook PS3/PS4/PC board.

So it seems like probably the issue has something to do with whether the stick uses XInput or DirectInput.

(Though also my box has no touch pad or right stick or any of those fancy inputs hooked up)

That could be too, I think ps3 mode does switch to DirectInput vs xInput while set to ps4

only downside in ps3 mode is it seems to flip a/b and x/y for me which makes menues a little jank

Edit: enabling playstation and generic controller support in steam unflipped the buttons

just checking back to say I think this stopped my crashes completely, had the game booted for like 10 hours yesterday after trying this. Thanks!

I've had the same issue with my Victrix Pro AF for PS4 which does not have a a solution for the PS4 touchpad built in. My Razer Pantera Evo which has a PS4 touchpad works without issue and that uses Xinput. So I'm thinking the issue is no the type of input or even the touchpad but general hardware compatability. .

I'm using an original Hitbox Arcade and have not run into any issues with the game crashing. It is the version for PS4/PC on a Windows 10 Pro.
