So basically....Mk11 is for the kiddies now, because horrible violence and gore is okay but potty words aren't?
Was someone high when they came to that decision?
no because hate based words can cause more problems than fantasy based visual gore can; its kind of the old saying
"the pen is mightier than the sword"
Why not?
fornication and scat . well i think its more about its distasteful when those words get mixed.
well you could just use synonyms
Throbbing vassal of death
Serf's up
Drudge Dread
Because it's not funny? It's tasteless and unnecessary. Just make puns as for your variant names, that's way funnier than using swear words. I have a Sub-Zero variant named "Netflix n Chill" (an obvious ice joke) and a one for Kano called "Koala-ty Banter" (a pun about Australian dialect).
Be funny, not vulgar.
Swearing has a place in narrative writing, if it's appropriately placed. Online interactions are not rated by the ESRB so restricting variant names to not have swear words is covering all of NRS's bases to avoid potential backlash when someone goes online in ranked with an offensive variant name.
Those people, both NRS and WB are haunted. Riddiculous.
