You know, "Overpowered" typically means "stronger than the rest," not "on the same level as a quarter of the roster."
Jax sure is better now since his peers are worse, but he's the same as before.
He doesn't get much combo damage, his main damage comes from Krushing Blows.
His Fatal Blow is high IIRC.
Most of his strings don't have any mixups involved.
He's just your run of the mill standard grappler
Jax FB is the best in the game. It is a MID, has 11 frames startup, good scaling, it leaves his arms fully heated and close to his opponent, it reaches longer than half the screen and of course beats projectiles since it's armored.
However if your opponent has it,try to play safer.
Try grabbing, try zoning, try minding what buttons you press, try baiting it.
I'm not gonna sit here saying the Jax doesn't have the upper hand, but most people online never really use it and mash it at any possible opening.
"If your opponent has it, try to play safer". That's true about any FB.
"Try grabbing". Jax is better at grabbing.
"Try zoning". Jax FB beats zoning, that's the point.
"Mind what buttons you press". Ideally this is a general rule for MK players.
"Try baiting it". Again, true about any FB.
Jax has the strongest FB in the game. A lot of people were surprised it didn't get nerfed.
But I don't mind Jax. He is strong, not OP.
This game is far from balanced, I'm average player, I'm Master ranked in KL. I played enough matches to be able to call it as I see it. Jax is OP. He was before the patch, he still is after the patch.
Strong and overpowered are not nearly the same thing.
Sure Kabal is strong,he's not scratching the surface of being overpowered.
Same thing for Scorpion,Erron Black,Sub-Zero,Scorpion,Baraka,etc...
Jax is not OP,he's a strong poking/grabbing character. His Krushing Blow is the main thing that sets him apart.
Also if you call yourself an "average player",why would you try to make balance statements in this manner? It's not that you're trying to discuss it,you're saying that's the situation, which it's not.
Jax is fine, you made the same thread for D'Vorah which is still low tier.
Just stop and learn the frames and gaps.
So I don't know why you bring up the others ITT.
Yeah, I did make thread on D'vorah, she's been buffed immensely since the new patch.
I understand that this is all subjective to where my skill is at playing those two characters defensively, and I'm using this forum as a way to vent.
D'Vorah has been moved from garbage juice to almost out of the dumpster.
Actually check her frames, you would not believe how much of her pokes/strings are full-combo punishable.
You having trouble with a certain character doesn't indicate their competitive viability.
I have trouble with Kano.Does that mean he should be nerfed? No,because he's low tier and it's my fault for not learning the matchup.
Erron's Fatal was 10 frames,not 9.
Just learn the matchup. No amount of posting in the forums will change the fact that he's simply just good and nothing more.
This game is extremely well balanced and you don't have any out-right broken characters like you did in MKX or MK9 with Alien or Kabal.
