Is it worth buying just for the campaign?

I don't really care about online play or grinding for loot and unlocks, I want to play the campaign. Is the story and the fights good?

I can't speak for the story, but the fights are good, the learning curve has a lot of details in it and thats where you'll need the tower challange and other story part. should you want.

story mode only is not wrth 60$, but with 50% dscount it is worth it.

Only Story mode/ Campaign: No/ Wait for sale.

But if you are ok to pay $60 for 5-7 hours story mode, just do it then :v
The campaign is well done, probably the best of all Fighting Games out there.

I'm a big fan but I wouldn't pay 40$ just for the story mode. As others have pointed out, it is only ~6 hours long and I doubt that people do more than two playthroughs.

Plus: The longterm motivation in fighting games comes from learning the characters. You don't really have to do that for the story mode, at least as long as you don't play on Very Hard difficulty.

For the full price, definitely not. I think MK is primarily an online battle.With such a game balance and the attitude of developers towards players, the game is generally not worth buying

I got the game just for the story and local 2 player games with friends. I really enjoy it. Also the Krypt and towers of time are really good.

This forum totally put me off ever playing any of the game online.

No, most likely no and not at all.

Fighting games are about gameplay. NRS games have best story modes out of fighting games, but without towers and/or online there`s no reason to buy MK11. You grind alone or disconnect in Kombat League...

Story in MK11 is average. Story mode designers were probably fired and Boon decided to combine ideas from older games. Now we have this time/universe travel thing (Greetings IJ:GaU and IJ2) and dialogue after Raiden fought old Scorpion is almost copy of one of MKvsDC dialogues.
The overall story is about white bald woman (lol?) who controls time and wants to change everything. A lot of family drama.
If you are fine with all of this, then it would be smart decision to buy the game on sale.

The campaign is more a movie with some fights. Nothing special tbh. Wait for the sale.

In my opinion, the strong point of this game is all it´s features combined. Is the story mode worth 60$ ? Not to me it isn´t. Is the 60$ worth it for the story mode and all the single player content? Absolutely. If online isn´t your thing, there are plenty of modes and fights in single player mode to keep you busy. In all honesty I have hardly played online yet, and I will at some point for sure, and I´m having a blast playing towers of time, klassic towers to unlock all endings, and the Krypt.

I might be wrong, but I don´t think there is any other fighting game out there with so much to do as this one (Injustice 2 comes close). There is quite a bit of grinding for some stuff, but unless you really want it, there is no reason at all to get them if your thing is just to enjoy the game as is.

Don't buy this or MKX for story go watch it on youtube the stories for both are pretty lackluster imo. What keeps most people playing is pvp online.

It's not worth it for the story. The single player content is decent, but only if you care about unlocking skins and gear, which you don't. If you really care, maybe wait for the game to drop down to $10 in a year or two.

I would recommend MKKE for singleplayer content and story its not too bad. Tag matches and Challenge tower are fun.
