"SERVER CLOSED"

Hey guys, I have been trying to play with some of my friends on High Treason over tunngle and gameranger, but everytime we start up the game after "lobby" everyone exept host gets "server closed" message, and is bumped back to lobby. Does anyone know how to fix this?

There is NOTHING on google about it, and everyone has the game from steam, and it doesn't matter who hosts, and creating over online doesn't work either. So does anyone have a solution to the "server closed" message? On normal Direct Action it's no problem.

Also happening to my buddies and I. Even tried buying copies right from atari since we heard the issue was the steam versions of the game. No luck.

I played a game over Hamachi last night. Had to turn Windows Firewall off though

On gameranger I know how fix your problem, go the the file where game is and change the Exe in properties comparability to windows 95 and keep it that way and it should work

Luckyranger1, you just saved my day. Finally me and my friends can enjoy this game online again! We've been searching for a solution for so long. :D Funny enough, loading the game after multiplayer lobby now goes super quick...

just tried playing with Hamachi, my friend couldnt even see the game in LAN...

the Windows 95 fix works, but screen auto-snaps to whatever just finished production and the spacebar apparently gets locked into constantly pressed state... any ideas?

act of war hi treason and act of aggression and others from the devs were bought by ea i think

hence the reason for certain serevers are shut down the same with websites with mods

star trek armada fleet ops and armada files was shut down and there files will be not available next year

original developers of this game are still operating, Eugen system and they have been releasing games for years now, most famously the Wargame series

somebody need to write them a letter about this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. They should lean on it and integrate the game with Steamworks

instructions:

1. Go to properties on your AOW executable, select the compatibility tab.
2. Click "change settings for all users" at the bottom.
3. Select Win95 mode from the drop-down box.
4. Tick "disable visual themes", "disable desktop composition" and "disable display
scaling" (the bottom 3).
5. Click OK on both windows to close them.

You do not need to run AOW in administrator mode.

plus, every first time you start the game and before host or join a LAN game, it will be better to start a single play.

I use this method to play it very well with my friends, and using ali213pk (like gameranger in Chinese)

either go for VPN like Hamachi for example or play with Gameranger

also the compatibility is the key to solving the problem when you start game and other players then host gets disconnected

but you need to experiment with each one honestly... its a hustle

if you are good at programming, it is possible to reactive official server, just like cnconline,because they are both powered by gamespy.
