Still not working! Anyone else having this happen?
I have windows 7 home edition. I have installed and uninstalled over and over again and the game still crashes trying to start. I get a message saying the AoW exe has stopped working.

Update. J0hnnyBoy send me the link for the patch. I did exactly what the read me instructions said to do and as soon as I try to launch it says ActOfWar_HighTreason.exe has stopped working. This is what it was doing before. I am running the game from steam on windows 7 home premium 64 bit. What am I doing wrong??

Steam version is still a fail. The GoG version appears to work fine. They managed to fix it to a great extent ...

However some users still cannot play regardless of the version.

Ill take a look. I ended up installing it on my older laptop that has windows vista and it runs just fine. I might stick to using that for AoW. Thanks for the advice.

My steam version works at the beginning, but always crashes in the loading screen after the airport mission with the air force one. Windows 7 home premium 64 bit. 16 GB RAM.

I never even got in the game. The AoW load window comes up for a few seconds then it crashes. I ended up using my laptop with vista and it works find.

I have windows 7 on a laptop. I did install a mod "AI Special Forces High Treason". The mod is great because it interfaces the Naval engagement and the Land in the same scenario. However, at some point, the scenario gets a black screen with an error message. The program then stops.

Hey guys not sure if this thread is still looked at but I just wanted to let you know I got the vanilla game to work by changing the game resolution.

Right clicking on the game in your library
Go to "properties"
Click "Set Launch Options.."
Then typed this: "-r:1920x1080"

Basically it changes the resolution of the game so you should put your monitor resolution. You may also have to run the game in compatibility mode.
Mine is running Windows XP (Service Pack 3)
