The first time I started the game, everything went well. But once I exited and restarted, the game returned me a Fatal Error and don't start.
It seems to be a problem with the file that saves the settings.
If I delete the User / "your name user" /Documents/AppData/local/Effie/Saved/SaveGames/EffieSettings.sav file, the game starts without error.
Once out, I will have to delete the file again or the game will return the error at the next start.
Thanks for the report, Theezan! We'll be looking the possible errors with this file. Hopefully it will be fixed in the next update.
Best,
Javier
I am having a Fatal Error as well. Validating files nor reinstalling + rebooting PC didn't do anything. Same as Theezan, game worked great first time I played, but subsequent times I tried to play just give me this same UE4-Effie Game has crashed fatal error.
Hi quietvertigo,
We're already working on it. Did you edit any settings before starting the game? Thanks
Not any in particular, just asking so we can look deeper there.
AMD Radeon 19.12.2. "gaming graphics profile."
Dual monitors.
Radeon has an update. 20.1.4
Am currently on "standard graphics profile" because Pixel Puzzles chokes on the gaming one for some reason.
Oh, and apparently I changed to Windowed Full screen as well. And changed the brightness by 1 point. (doublechecking settings)
Great! Thanks for the update.
Same here!
I updated my Radeon graphics driver to 20.1.3 and now it works without any problem!

We didn't see this before. It can be the graphic card, no idea right now.
Thanks, Clovinous! Subtitles issue will be fixed in the next patch coming this week. We'll have a look to the other bugs, and if possible, a fix will be implemented in the next patch. Thanks!
First of all, played for about an hour before my first bug, and am really liking the game so far. I totally understand having bugs in a freshman indie game, so I'm willing to push through the issues to help make the game better.
1.) Suffered the same issue with the "Fatal Error" launch bug when trying to launch the game for the second time, and the Radeon 20.1.4 update fixed that issue for me as well. On my first launch of the game, I adjusted all volume settings and swapped from keyboard to controller after the initial cutscene, if that helps.
2.) The reason I exited my first session was because the audio completely cut itself off after I tabbed out to check another tab, which I had done a couple times before with no issue. Nothing seems to turn it back on (tabbing out and in, adjusting settings, initiating the next cutscene, etc.) so I logged out and relaunched before hitting error #1.
3.) When I relaunched successfully (Third launch, Radeon 20.1.4 update now), I went to adjust settings again to see if they worked fine and froze on the Settings screen, forcing a restart of the game again. Menu sound effects were working fine here before I froze, so that seemed to have solved the audio issue mentioned in error #2.
4.) Relaunched again and no freezing of any kind, but I have no audio again (Menu and in-game) and continue to have no audio after relaunching a few more times. Not a problem on my end unfortunately.
5.) A couple grammatical errors in the English subtitles, but that's been mentioned of course.

Thanks for the Curator key on this game, hoping to play it all the way through and see it be a successful title! Best of luck ironing out the bugs!
