How controller or keyboard show icon?

Whatever you set your keyboard gamepad to SHOOTING THEIR WEAPON. They don't make it obvious but as soon as you hit your fire button near that crank box your character will latch onto the lever. Then you need to mash your fire key to make it turn.

By default this is SQUARE/X on your gamepad.

The update to config keyboard keys already dropped, so check what you are using for the fire key (labeled as SQUARE).

STEP TWO: PRESS SQUARE/X/WHATEVER YOUR KEYBOARD FIRE IS SET TO

STEP THREE: MASH THAT SQUARE/X/WHATEVER YOUR KEYBOARD FIRE IS SET TO

STEP FOUR: ???
