He used to, and I had 2 Civilian Daggers. But now I took one off to give to another hero (who now also has a full set where it does work).
Then I noticed the Death Knight didn't get the skill level +2 anymore.
So I re-equipped all items to see if that fixed it, but no it did not.
I continued from a previously saved game, maybe that matters.
Over 50% of the time when I start the game, the cursor disappears.
I have to End Task.
Back at the desktop the cursor is still missing, so have to restart my computer and try again.
This has never happened on any game before.
Win 10
I just got this machine new in September and it had the missing cursor problem when win 10 was in setup mode when I first turned it on.
But I resolved that.
I know you are switching to a graphic cursor, is there an option to just use the hardware cursor?
When I can get in the game / play / exit, the cursor on the desktop has a setting removed.
I have Trails set to Low, to avoid another bug in win 10. With that setting removed somehow by the game, it messes up the graphics used by the cursor, it changes between several shapes.
EDIT:
Ok I think I figured it out.
For some reason your game is disabling PointerTrails on start up.
After starting I had no cursor again, then I managed to navigate to the Settings Mouse area and set PointerTrails back on and the in game cursor showed up.
Pointer Trails on low is a fix for a win 10 bug.
It could be that the real problem is inside unity code and we cant see it.
I havent tried changing the cursor in my game yet so I havent seen this before.
This win 10 bug doesnt hit everyone.
It seemed to work fine, I just tried it in the editor, I didnt make a build.
I then went into Win 10 Settings and manually turned off pointer trails and my normal cursor outside the unity run window was gone and the graphic cursor was gone, as I expected.
So setting the cursor with the normal unity command Cursor.SetCursor() seems to work at least in the editor. It doesnt automatically remove the trails setting.

Are you changing the cursor using:
System.Runtime.InteropServices ?
No, I just use the function in unity.
Looking forward to seeing the finished game :)
Edit: Reason for that is that it wants to upgrade a mercenary from another tab but it doesn't show which tab.
The hero- and unit-tabs are mixed up in the encyclopedia.
In my current game as Steam one of my One Wheel Boys cannot heal. Neither Repair nor putting him inside the castle replenishes his health. It is persistant over savegame. I have a savegame of the bug.
The "next castle"-button should go away if you don't have enough gold to upgrade anything.
