獸族兵種科技樹分析加新手須知 Strategy Discussion on Industry Upgrade for the Beasts Clan + Beginners' Tips
新手一名(40小時),在盤古大陸打了3條龍(剩下三頭龍首領)但被混亂之神搞死了(大約190回合)。本來輪不到我來寫分析類文章,但Steam上實在太少技術貼了,所以我來寫一個,拋磚引玉,希望引起大家深入討論。

I have only played for like 40 hours, taken down 3 dragons (with the 3-headed one left), but killed by the God of Chaos. So I don't know enough to offer something that has stood the test. But there are so few discussions on strategies about how to play the game on Steam. So here comes my attempt to get people's attention and invite further discussion.

綜合分析獸族兵種升級科技樹,流血效果無異是最明顯的種族特色。兔,貓,狼,熊,象都有相同的2個強化流血效應的升級,分別為流血攻擊和流血伏擊。但我個人認為最合適升級這兩項的只有兔子。流血效應靠的是疊加層數,滿層(40層)的每回合600點傷害十分需要堆積。而兔子的伏擊本能可以升級出“連射火槍”。雖然攻擊力下降,但可以攻擊三次,一回合堆疊9(只有伏擊本能)至15層(魔法先祖圖騰加持+伏擊本能)流血效應。因為兔子堆疊流血效應效率冠絕群獸,早期獸族出傷害我個人是靠的兔子。事實上哪怕晚期,兔子依然靠著“連射火槍”的三連擊成為刷流血效應層數的擔當。其他動物們,從貓,狼,熊,到象,只有貓可以攻擊2次。因此哪怕其他動物升級了兩個強化,也最多一回合加5層流血,遠不及兔子效率高。而一旦到了40層,再加沒有,因此其他動物最佳強化我不覺得是最大化流血效應。有兔子扛就可以了。


Looking through all the upgrades for the Beasts, it's bleeding effect is the clearest trait. Rabbit, cat, wolf, bear and elephant all share 2 identical upgrade options, Bleeding Attack and Bleeding Ambush. Personally, I think the best troop to upgrade both is the rabbit. The key to bleeding effect is the stacking, which goes up to 600 damage per turn (dpt) at 40 stacks. Rabbit, with its "Fire Rifle" upgrade, can hit thrice. So it can create 9 (with only the effect of wild ambush) to 15 (with magic "Ancestor Totem" + ambush effect) stacks in one tern. So rabbit sits at the top of generating bleeding effect among all beasts, making it the best early game troop, or even a great option for late game as well. For the rest of the animals, only cat can hit twice, generating at maximum 5 stacks per turn, which stands far behind rabbit. Further, once 40 stacks is reached, it tops off and can't be added anymore. So I think the best upgrade option for other animals is not to maximize the bleeding effect. Rabbit is enough for that.


下面稍微說一下我個人打起來感覺不錯的其他動物的強化路線。狼適合群居。防禦低了,攻擊提升很大,打其他種族沒問題,擔心防禦低了後期加裝備。如果考慮打遠古種,尤其龍,狼作用不明顯。因此推薦升級群居路線。熊由第一層至第四層我個人這樣按1-2-2-2升級,升級為範圍攻擊暴擊熊,單挑英雄問題不大,加上魔法簡直英雄殺手。貓頭鷹主要是作用是時間詭計,第一層強化我沒有太多想法,但覺得第二層起可以升1-1-2或者2-1-2,重點是第四層的伏擊本能提升,讓時間詭計在魔法作用下每回合都能使用。

Then I briefly go through the upgrade paths for some of the animals that I found effective. Wolf fits well with all upgrades that encourage grouping. "Group Wolf" lovers defense, but can be added later in game through equipment. Don't worry about fighting the dragons or anything over 10k hp. I upgraded my Polar bear in the 1-2-2-2 fashion (the numbers are option positions with 1 being on the left, 2 in the middle and 3 on the right). It became an AoE-high-crit bear that can handle heroes one on one with no problem (esp. with magic). Owls stand out with their time trick. I don't have much preference for the first upgrade, but the second to the fourth, I think it can go 1-1-2 or 2-1-2. The key is the fourth, which allows time trick to be activated every turn.

升級路線不明的有豬,貓,熊貓,象和初級兵署。豬攻擊不高,光做肉盾有好像很少有這種需要,因此我直接略過了豬,不知道怎麼用豬好。貓感覺可以嘗試2-2-3-2。兩次攻擊可以先降低移動力,然後第二下暴擊。沒試過。熊貓三連擊很好用,尤其升級”連擊拳“讓熊貓成為可以和熊爭輸出第一的暴力選手,熊貓穩定,熊靠運氣(暴擊率)。但我不懂的是熊貓中間兩層的升級。我兩個都強化了反擊,導致電腦不摸熊貓,我彷彿白升級了。尤其第二層好像除了反擊都不怎麼樣,但又怕升了反擊電腦就不打熊貓了,囧。感覺第三層可以升級3,但熊貓的先祖之力不能堆疊,讓最後打龍或混亂神時不能限制他們活動。因此我沒想好熊貓怎麼玩。最後是象,我升了1-2-3-3,全想著靠複製提高攻擊力,結果後期電腦都死了,只剩下打遠古種,所以象有點尷尬,來的太貴太晚因此在我玩的過程中用途不大。鼠我沒太搞懂作用,不想一句帶過,但不知道說什麼好。

There are those that I have no good clue about what to upgrade, including boar, cat, panda, elephant, and Hamster. Boar can tank but doesn't hit hard. Given that the game doesn't seem to have a place for pure tanks, I just don't know what to do with boar. Cat can perhaps go for 2-2-3-2, allowing the first attack to decrease enemy movement and the second attack to crit. Could be nice, but I haven't tried it yet. Panda is quite good with the triple attack. With the "Continuous hit" upgrade, Panda can compete with Polar bear for damage output (Panda is more consistent while the bear depends on crit chance). But I don't have a good clue about the second and third upgrade option for Panda. I tried maximizing counterattack, and AI just stopped hitting Panda, making the upgrade useless. The other options don't seem that good, and so I am a bit confused. For Elephant, I tried 1-2-3-3, thinking that I could use that copy mechanism for good. But Elephant came out in late game when all AI are dead. So elephant went a big awkward, costing too much and coming out too late to be useful for me. Hamster remains a puzzle to me and I don't have much to say about how to use them well.

說到這裡有一些新手須知我想說一下。第一,不僅本族生物可以升級,雇傭兵,元素,矮人,龍都可以。再加上中後期開始給兵種加裝備,錘子就有種多多益善的感覺。第二,介面左上角可以買寶物,可不能賣。也可以轉移生產力,比如把剩餘的知識生產力轉成金幣生產力。第三也是最重要但最明顯的,獸族其實特別受益於魔法,尤其是先祖圖騰和伏擊圖騰。後期我恨不得把所有中心建築都改成”皇家兵營“和”魔法尖塔“。兩個圖騰對獸族攻擊力提升十分顯著,哪怕早期,打不過的時候魔法有可能能改變局面。附贈:四條龍最好打的是時光和肥龍,它們沒有啥群體攻擊技能。烈焰龍很煩,中期全勝了都不要惹。三頭龍我還沒來得及打。我打龍都是靠各種魔法和堆疊各種作用。其他上萬血的遠古種同理。

With these said, here are some tips for absolute beginners. 1. upgrades are available for one's own clan, but also dragons, the elements, dwarfs and mercenaries. Starting mid-game, equipment can be added to enhance all the creatures, making "Industry" pretty important. 2. Top left corner of the interface has options to buy artifacts and to convert production. For example, I convert knowledge production to money production during late game. 3. the most important yet also obvious tip for the Beast or the Wild is that they benefit a great deal from magic, esp. Ancestor Totem and Ambush totem. These two are useful even for early game and have the potential to change the tide. Bonus: the fat dragon and the time dragon are the easiest to beat, because they don't have AoE. Flame dragon is annoying and can be hard even after taking down all AI opponents. I haven't tried the 3-headed. For dragons and every creature with over 10k hp, magic and all kinds of effects are your friend.

最後說幾個個人推測和疑問。首先,我沒有提到獸族兵種升級裡另一個最大的特點,即”群居“。群居象升級后能讓象(80)比原價的狼(90)和 貓頭鷹(85)便宜,群居狼(60)和豬(60)一個價。群居鼠20,群居兔35。兔子升級群居不影響它核心攻擊力。狼反而可以提升,象變得便宜很多又不減攻防。升級群居也許是獸族的另一個種族特色戰術。這會影響到經濟和初始發展速度。其次,我被混亂之神懟死的結局讓我懷疑獸族需要5英雄,但我畢竟最後死了,說不好。第三,兵種列表裡熊貓有兩個升級版,我不知道怎麼雇用,有可能是非戰役不能雇。懂的朋友請指點一下。


Last but not least, I have some suspicions and questions. 1. I didn't mention another trait for the Beasts, namely, the "Group __" upgrade. With "Group Elephant" upgrade, elephant ($80) can be cheaper than wolfs (90) and owls (85). "Group Wolfs" make wolf (60) the same price as boar (60). Hamsters go down to 20 and rabbits to 35. "Group __" upgrade doesn't affect rabbits core strength, make wolfs stronger, make elephant cheaper with the same stats for attack and defense. So "Group __" upgrade could be another unique strategy for the Beasts. It certainly influences economy and early game development. 2. The fact that I got killed by the God of Chaos made me think that maybe I need 5 heroes. I died anyway and couldn't verify the hypothesis. 3. I see two more versions of Panda in the "Encyclopedia" but have no clue how to hire them. Perhaps they can't be hired outside of campaign. Please let me know if you know.

nice list. i did not think about that stuff in such details. i like the mechas, because of the inherent healing capacities. only the enginieer hero seems to be weak, also the tank. could not find a way to use the tank for rercruitment .
