Jellywaft Science Experiment Not Working
I have all but one science experiment needed to jump up to level 2, but I can not get the "Hit two creatures with the acid burst from a dying Jellywaft (Prime)" task to work. I've had the jelly hit numerous puffers and the achievement doesn't complete. What am I doing wrong?

Yeah, this quest was kind of fickle for me as well, but I finally got it after a few tries. Don’t know if this helps, but I teleported to Itching Fields - Planetary Flotsam, and there are 2 areas with those pink Jellywafts. Try to bait many creatures together (also better kill the green Jellywafts before that), wait, and when the pink one is kind of above those creatures, kill it. By the way, only the acid rain on death counts for the experiment, not its whirling move. Sorry I can’t be more of help. I even saw a YouTube video in which someone chose a different spot (in the Fungi area), but I actually never encountered that special situation in-game, so I went for the normal approach. That said, seeing that you also had problems with your other achievement, maybe there’s another inherent problem in your case, so sorry again if my advices don’t help. By the way, regarding the other problem, maybe start another game on another save slot and check out if you can get this loot achievement there (it just takes a few minutes). Might be worth a try. Or try a completely fresh save file (backup your old one before that, it’s in AppData-Local-Towers, then you can restore it without a problem).

Yeah, those two islands were where I was trying to do this experiment. I thought the jelly had to hit them with the acid and wasn't thinking about exploding it over them. I'll try that next time I'm in the game. Thanks for the help.

Well, I tried again, this time with loot in tow so I'd get something back from the box. Says the goal was completed, just like last time, but still no achievement. I wonder if it is a multiplayer thing instead of single player.

Oh, just to understand you right, are you playing in multiplayer or single player (I myself only played the game in SP)? Multiplayer indeed could mess with some achievements depending on the host (maybe even using the experimental DX12 build, I don’t know, I used DX11). Just for fun, like I insinuated above, you could always try to start a new game on another save slot in single player (there are 3 slots available after all), and just play a few minutes until the ice area (like I did). Let yourself be killed and collect the loot, and see if you get the achievement then. After all you don’t have to get the achievements on one save slot. Because just another thought, maybe the connection to Steam was botched at the time you triggered that achievement, or there was some other Steam or game bug, so maybe it’s best to repeat this quest from a clean start I guess.

Edit: Just tried it out with another family-sharing account (which also uses my normal save file in AppData-Local), at least this one can get the Retrieve Loot achievement on a new save slot in single player without a problem in a few minutes.

I only play in SP. Finally got the achievement after starting and dying in a new game. So, something got bugged in my previous one.

Glad it worked! :D

Now if I could just to the gun to do a charge shot. For some odd reason, I'm not seeing the energy meter so as to stop it in the blue zone. Also, how do I a bounce shot against multiple enemies? That is one of the last science tier jobs.

Yeah, the charged shot even now is a kind of mystery for me, too. You obviously know what to do anyway, but to sum it up how it regularly works, first, you must have a fully loaded magazine (e.g. by pressing Y on a controller, I don’t know the keyboard command, sorry). Then, shortly press Y again, and then there should be this short small arc/meter in view. The window is sometimes stupidly short (sucks for a reaction game :/) And while the arrow is in the blue area, press Y again, and after that the gun glows blue. I finally figured it out after a dozens of tries, but after that I actually never used that move again (one of the worst upgrades actually in my opinion). And if you do the button pressing wrong, the gun stalls for about 30 seconds (with this double T-symbol).

As for the bounce shot, I just did the same as with every of those experiments, I first bought the bounce tech, then went to the first ice area to the left, charged my gun, baited 5 pufferbirds, glued them together with the binding stuff, and then charge-shot at them, and tada, the experiment was finished. Don’t know if I just were lucky, but I did nearly all of those experiments with those first pufferbirds, also the shocking one.

That said, but if you don’t see the energy meter at all, there’s definitely something wrong :/ Never encountered that actually, so sorry. I myself had some issues during my play-time as well, but luckily I always could resolve them somehow (sometimes some advices on the trueachievements website were kind of helpful, or some Reddit posts, or some YouTube videos). But yeah, it sucks, I totally feel you.

Yeah, I know how to get the charge shot to function, but for some reason, even in the new game, I'm oddly not seeing the meter so as to stop it in the blue zone. If I can get it to work, I'll do your suggestions. Thanks again for the help.
