Corrupted save file, lost everything

Computer crashed, when I restarted game it said the save file was corrupted and prompted me to create a new profile. Poof! Everything gone.

I assume there is no way to get my progress back. Is there at least a way to back up save files?

I figured it out. I went to C:\Users\<me>\AppData\Local\Towers\Saved\SaveGames and copied the latest backup to PlayerSave_0.sav. It's working so far.

I did lose my keybinds. I guess you need to backup PlayerProfile.sav yourself.

Of course, the game should do this for you. Or at least tell you how.

how exactly did you copy the latest back up to playersave_0.sav. did you replace the file?

Basically yes. I backed up the new PlayerSave_0.sav just to be safe, then copied the latest PlayerSave_0-backup-*.sav file to it. Then I redid all my keybinds and backed up PlayerProfile.sav. Then I backed up the entire SaveGames directory because I'm paranoid.

By copying the backup to the active PlayerSave_0.sav I did lose some progress. But only 30 minutes or so.

Okay so my issue ATM is a bit strange, i might make a separate thread. But basically my save file still "exists" in the game, but does not exist. The first file slot wont let me make a new game on it, but the other 2 will. i see my latest save in the file directory that you provided, but am unsure why it doesn't show up in-game. I'm wondering if deleting a certain file will fix the issue. and possibly replacing it.

so i actually just copied my backup and just changed the name so it no longer said backup in the name. worked

i could fix my problems: i deleted in the save file the config files
->C:\Users\+++\AppData\Local\Towers\Saved\Config
