Sadly this lead to people in such ♥♥♥♥♥♥ countries (Im from Argentina) to go back into piracy because there is no way I spend half of my monthly wage in a game... gaming been my everyday hobby, the moment when I feel free to try a lot of different games, different stories, different mechanichs... I really like to see what this new author haves to tell me or to show me with his new game but saldy when I finish what I never played on Steam that hobby dies or I work 20 hours a day so I can cost new games but with no free time to play or just... pirate them and move on with my life until I get a chance to get out of here.

people flooding the comment sections of places like these with their absolutely brainless rage.

If I wasn't a misanthrope already, this'd definitely contribute to making me one.
Gonna cry? :emofdr:
Why would I cry when I find it fascinating? Weird assumption but ok.

The actual outcome of all this will simply be an increase in piracy.

I hear this repeated a lot but I don't know if I've actually seen some sort of evidence of the price increases actually making that much of an issue for sales. Otherwise, so many developers wouldn't be hiking up their games in certain regions, right?

How to fight against people faking their region? Make actual resident's life miserable. Literally setting the price everywhere equal to highest world-wide is the dumbest move possible
your actions speak louder than your words. you can't claim to support turkey while increasing their prices fivefold.
"Fairer price in each country"... Are u mean torrents, yeah? Coz it's more fair, than x2+ in Russia, for example. Or poor Turkey. Big bad terrible Steam changed prices? Ofc not, U did it.

are you guys seriously implying that people in turkey will care about spiritfarer's price going up? are you guys seriously, honestly implying that, in a turks mind at the moment, the first of their worries is not being able to afford this, or any other game...?
not to mention that i have seen countless posts and reviews where people say "omg u guys should def charge more for this game, its so good u deserve the money!!!" but when it actually happens, you freak out.
i do agree that the timing of the price increases in turkey is unfortunate, but trust me, the LAST thing they care about rn is buying and playing games. some people dont even have a home, or their lives anymore.

That doesn't make it okay, this is just the "appeal to bigger problem" fallacy, besides it wasn't just a change in turkey.
yo ho ho and a bottle of rum

Well that's disgusting... You've just killed any desire to play your games or give you money
Bye devs, banned for good.

Exactly this. People wishing the devs charge more because the game is amazing and the devs deserve it, but the second it happens it's somehow exploitation or evil. Can't have both I guess.

You do realize different groups require different things, right?

I can imagine it's mostly the rich ones who would want to increase prices because they have no care in the world for the most part. I don't think the ones with little means would want the same even if the games are worth it.
