Annie's Lost Hat not working

hi wondering if anyone can help xP

I am on the Annie's lost hat quest but for some reason even after i wear the beach outfit and then the red hat with it Alice just repeats the original line about missing Annie.
I am not sure what I am doing wrong?
I have tried repeating the sequence at the Everdoor but nothing changes

Any ideas?

What worked for me was using Alex's bus service. I was going to try the shop method, took the bus there, just thought I'd double check and she recognised me as Annie

Was dealing with this glitch for a while. Just keep moving the boat to shops and using the bus service while wearing the beach outfit with the red hat - Keep talking to her over and over after doing it. Worked for me. Probably like 12 attempts, but it worked.

Had this bug too. In the end, after changing to the red hat and having her not recognise me, I just saved and exited back to the menu, then loaded straight away and she immediately recognised me.

I have wasted hours of my life trying to get her to recognize me. Tried multiple locations and clothes combinations. But it looks like it only works in the morning. Or maybe it worked because I have just reloaded the game.

Necro-ing this thread just to say I got it to work after being stuck by also changing the cat colors.

Sorry to hear you've been experiencing issues with Alice's quest!

We are currently investigating this to determine what might be going wrong with Alice's quest and hope to have a fix ready for that soon. Unfortunately, I cannot confirm at this time when that will be released. We thank you for reaching out to us about this and sharing any information you have about it.

You should be able to progress Alice's quest by saving and quitting the game and then speaking to her while the boat is not moving and wearing the correct outfit (Annie's Beach outfit with the red hat).

Found something on the FAQ that helped me:
When selecting a different piece of clothing after going into the closet the rest of the outfit will count as deselected and you have to put on everything else manually

Unfortunate that this is still broken after trying everything. Only thing that fixed it was restarting my game. After leaving her outside all night ;-;

I think you had to put on just the beach outfit then she says "you look like my daughter in that outfit but she wore a red hat" then you put on the red hat and it works. The task instructions are not very clear.

As I noted, when I did that, it did not trigger - I had to put on the regular outfit first and then it worked. The instructions are clear, but just not working for everyone. Looks like my suggestion works if it won't trigger with just changing the hat after.

Well, on the Official Website for ThunderLotus games this is a pretty common one, and they commented on it saying, "It is important to note that there is an issue with full outfits getting deselected when changes are made, changes like changing the hat’s color. If you selected the full outfit before changing the hat, you’ll need to manually reselect the correct shirt & pants before proceeding with the quest.

Also, there’s an issue currently that blocks Alice from progressing this questline while the boat is moving, so make sure you stop the boat before talking to her!"

Hello! We're aware that there are still some issues with this quest and we apologise. If you put on the correct outfit, save and quit the game, reload and then speak to Alice, she should properly recognise you and advance the quest.

I want to like this game so badly but the surprising amount of bugs and lack of polish is very off-putting. This is still bugged, even after saving and quitting. been at this for around 15mins, trying everything on this thread....
