Can't start Meteor Shower

I got Giovanni his desk, I've shuffled his house all over the boat (there was a suggestion on Reddit for this) and for the love of it all, I don't know why he just sits in his house saying "What's going on?" and "I don't like this."

Unfortunately, the wiki has nothing explaining what I'm missing.

I don't know if I need to get more Spirits or lead more through the Everdoor first. I'm really at a loss of what to do.

That does usually mean you need to do something else, but I couldn't tell you what it is in this case. All I can suggest is progressing some upgrades/other spirits stories for a while and come back to it.

Yeah, I've set it as destination and even passed through, and he just says "What's going on?" and "I don't like this."

I'll try progressing other stuff and see how that goes.

I think you confused Gustav with Giovanni. Giovanni is the Lion that shares Astrid's house and will start the Meteor/Comet event, Gustav is the Bird and starts the Firefly event.
