White icons when using PS5 controller

Title says it all, some of the icons show as a white box and some as xbox 360 buttons. I'm not using DS4 or any intermediary for this controller, have tried either with or without steam input, same result.

Try going to your to the game in your Steam Library > Properties> Installed Files > View integrity of game files. And it will go through those files and re-download any missing files.

I've done it more than once, it says all files were validated.
I managed to "fix" it with DS4 and some other 3rd party hardware to hide my original controller but I wish I could just use the PS5 controller natively.

I use my PS5 controller natively with bluetooth, have you tried setting the input thing to Raw Input? (I think it's the Game sub menu) That's works for me, and then in controls you should be able to choose what type of buttons it shows.
