The pacing may be a little strange if you take this approach (though not as bad as doing it with the individual updates), so starting from scratch may offer a better experience overall.
I would say that the Lily update is essential, and it's worth replaying the game just for her - she adds a lot to the game's main story.
Beverly is pretty average as a Spirit, reminding me a bit of Alice, and makes the late-game a little friendlier on average.
Jackie is a bit like Bruce and Mickey, in being tough to like, particularly at first, but not as bad.
Daria is pretty weird - she makes Stanley look normal. How you'll feel about her questline will depend a lot on how you feel about the game's platforming.
Jackie and Daria's questlines are intermingled, and also tie in with a few Errands. The new island they come with is also interesting. Overall, they cheer up the late-game considerably.
I would say that Lily alone is worth a full replay, and the other new Spirits only add to that, though if you don't want to put in the hours for a full playthrough, resuming your final save is better than nothing.
you really made me curious. I will give it a new go once I have some spare time.
