HELP: unable to get ectoplasm

So basically I've got buck in the guesthouse and stanley is currently without a home.
Stanley's quest won't progress because there's someone in the guesthouse, but I also can't build buck's lair since pine trees are in the mist areas, which, I cannot access without ectoplasm!
lolol is this unfixable or is there any other way to get pine wood

Hello, Stanley should automatically kick out whoever is in the guest house when he takes it over. Can you check what he's doing/what quest you have active for him?
