Missing Atul's Spirit Flower

I did the meal with Atul and he went. However I didn't get a spirit flower from this. I have the quest "Uncle's Gone?" but I can't seem to get it to progress further to give me the flower.

IIRC you need to talk to everyone who attended the dinner, then eventually the flower will appear in front of his cabin.

So, no sending Atul to Everdoor? Because the spirit flower suddenly appeared after I talked to the three dinner attendees?
