Whats up with meditation?

So Summers teaches you how to meditate in a quest, which just involves pressing action on the big rock for a quest. Afterwards she reacts like you told her of a vision you saw, but there was no vision, just a short black screen?
She also tells us to visit other similar locations and meditate there to also get visions, but I have revisited a bunch of those places now and none allowed me to press a button to meditate. What's up with that?
Is it cut content or something. It seems weirdly out of place because everything else in this game is so polished.

Yeah I traveled to a bunch of these places as well and NPC's are like commenting on meditating at these places, but I have so far been unable to as well.

It might be cut content, just like meal sizes... why are there meal sizes if all foods satisfy anyone regardless of size? Sure they have preferences but meal sizes are not being used.

I also revisited shrines and think it's cut content. Meal sizes are probably not - they might just influence how long somebody is satiated? (Can't feed them berries for long.)
