Fail at fishing = uninstalled
Just an FYI because the art style looks cool and it seems like everyone who reviews likes this game, but I uninstalled the demo after I couldn't hook a fish.

After 5 minutes of reeling / not reeling in I gave up & uninstalled.

I don't need to know how to fish - you've lost this customer, but if you want to lessen how many you lose in the future you NEED TO EXPLAIN HOW TO FISH.

It's not dissimilar to a lot of farming crafting games tbh. Hit E to cast your line (or whatever your action button is). Wait a few seconds until something bites--you'll hear a slight ring and your bobber will jiggle a bit. Then hold E to reel it in. Sometimes the line will turn red, that means your line is in danger of snapping. Let go of E until it cools off a little (turns white or yellow), then hold E again to reel in farther. As long as you're holding E and there's something on the line, you'll keep reeling toward the boat. Once it gets close enough to the boat, you'll automatically pull it out of the water. Hope that helps!

Yikes!! I don't mean to be condescending but fishing was quit simple to figure out. Finding a bunch of folk that really need their hands held in a lot of games these days. What's going on?

I mean, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out? I only started playing a couple days ago, and I figured it out on my first try. Maybe next time you should first make a thread ASKING for advice when you cant figure something out, instead of making an inflammatory thread like this.

Blatant troll. It's holding and releasing one button, can't imagine how it could be simpler.

ok, but, when it turns red you shouldn't just let go and wait for it to go back to yellow. You'll never catch a big fish (like tuna) that way. You want to hold E till it turns red and then *TAP* E quickly until it is yellow and then go back to holding.
They are not wrong in calling out the instructions for being occasionally unclear. I am 8 hours in and while fishing wasn't one of them i have had similar moments with other tasks. You may never have spent too long trying to figure out a simple task only to feel dumb once you figure out how simple it is but not all of us are as lucky.

It is also inconsistent; I would argue that tree cutting is simpler than fishing yet the game never tires of telling me how to do that.

Fishing for dummies:
1) At boat stern, click Action button/key to sit down and cast. Wait for fish to "bite".
2) Press and hold Action while fishing line and rod are colored yellow to reel in fish.
3) Let go of Action when line and fishing rod turns orange-red, rapidly click Action while red to keep fish close.
4) Repeat 2 & 3 until fish is caught.

Not sure about the demo, but in the full game, at first few times fishing, there were definetly two different notes near the water surface once I was going wrong; one explained to hook them by pressing the button, the other one was about letting go when the line becomes red.

What an ignorant statement. I am American and play some of the most complicated games in existence. You should deal with that hate problem you have.

Lol let go when red, you couldn't manage that? You uninstalled a demo out of rage hahaha wow. Do you work for IGN?

Nah this is such an obvious bait
ChocolateBug33 Dec 12, 2022 @ 3:43pm
I think you might just be bad at fishing.

Good decision. If you are that easily discouraged, this game is not a good one for you. So glad there is a demo version so you could walk away and not waste time complaining and demanding the devs change things to suit you.
