Spoiler - Jackie and Daria ending need clarification
Spoiler warning -

I don't get these two character's story and how they fit in Stella's life.

1) Daria - So she is from a care hospital who is mentally unstable. What I understood is that her mind is deteriorating to the point she ends up at a hospice. But, why is she unstable? I didn't really understand her ramblings during her mini-games.

2)Jackie - The delinquent aid, so after leaving him alone with his books and posters and gym equipment, then he willingly leave the boat and ends up being rowed to the Everdoor. What!? I was expecting something close akin to uncle Atul but then he up and dies? After leaving the hospital, did he get sick while he was homeless? I can understand Stella was helping with either
a) Jackie during his period of couch-surfing while jobless or
b) Jackie needs closure on his personality before he dies
Am I interpreting something wrong from his story?

Daria has a type of synesthesia, where when she hears sounds, her eyes actually perceive colors. Daria has trouble internalizing her condition and is outwardly distressed whenever she hears sounds and colors subsequently fill her vision. For awhile, she dislikes her condition, and her mental condition deteriorates and I think she even runs away from her friends and family at one point? And she does end up being put in a hospital where she is essentially encouraged to stay as aurally deprived as possible so as not to set her off. But Daria's condition is embraced by Stella in Stella's own unique and caring way, and Daria discovers more and more about herself through that, including the parts of her that she has self-suppressed.

Jackie has trouble coming to grips with the person he has become after so much time being alive. After Daria's outburst toward him and how Stella is able to conduct herself in such a loving and caring way, he leaves his job at the hospital, his actions unknown after that. But in the end, he does end up manifesting in Stella's world... Jackie's realization of who he is and the effect his actions had on others is probably his biggest step in life. In the end, it's hard for him to find any more closure than that.

I will say though that a lot of this game is very open to interpretation. This game gives you chapters 98 and 99 at the beginning of the game, and chapters 1 and 2 at the end when you have already forgotten chapters 98 and 99. You are expected to simply remember what you can, and fill in the paint everywhere else. Everyone will remember different story bits so everyone's experience will be radically different, especially given the variable amount of time the player will take to play the game. It's not at all a "comfortable" way to experience a story, so I'd say if you want to conjure up your own story based on what you remember from the game, that's completely viable IMO. But yeah, I offered my own recollection of the story; you can fill the cracks in your own story as you wish.
