Agree :(
Having only one key for gliding and jumping and bouncing is annoying.

i agree!! My bounce never reaches the target :( i probably will never get the spirit i need bacause i cant bounce high enough from that umbrella....

i wish Devs would make bounce easier , and also make zip easier. its the only things that may cause me to quit playing this game.
I'm posting this in a few places: I also struggled with the bounce and finally figured it out: you can/should press the button to bounce way before you reach the surface, and it's counterproductive to hit the input right as you actuallly reach it
So, using the image as a ref, it's much better to tap the input on the way down, when the player character's feet are in the green box, rather than be pinpoint precise and tap hen they are in the red zone.

Hope that helps!

I found it nearly impossible on a controller, but a quick switch to keyboard and it was fine.

I totally wish the developers would add a second option for those who don't enjoy the bounce jump glide agility games. For example, having a spirit standing next to the quest offering to do this for you in exchange for glims or certain objects. So you can go search the objects or earn the glims, then come back and have that guy do the job for you, you will get the soul or whatever materials available. There might be even better solutions I can't think of right now, but I really feel there should be a second option. I never played a platform game before and these jump run glide bounce episodes totally are not fun for me, I don't know how to do it and I was close to quit the wonderful game several times because of these.

is there a cheat to get around the jump? like editing something to make me jump higher?

Before you land, hold space. It's very easy - because there is no strict time window for the bounce

You can keep doing this to gain height further and further

agree with this. at first i thought it was like a mario game where you hit jump just as you touch down on the catapult. but here, i think of it like holding the jump button with the down momentum if that makes sense

i still hate it, in the very beginning area, i cant bounce from that umbrella. (That chest or whatever was up there) is way before you upgrade to the later area that has a bounce ability shrine.... I have the double jump, glide, and Zip so far. So i am not looking forward to the rest of this game if the bounce gets even harder! Please, there must be a cheat option ?

i am having the same issue even with a keyboard. i played this game to help relax now i just rage quit. i don't get it. every time i either only bounce to a limited height unlike the videos i looked up. or it activates double jump or glide which beaks the jump height.

Don't you need a special ability (shrine) for the bounce? The game can tell you about the bounce before you have this.

Very much - you can press the jump button a solid half a second early / half a screen away from the bouncy object, and that'll still work. The game could do a slightly better job pointing this out.

This was a life saver. I've been trying for days to get to the Dash Shrine but couldn't get half the bounce height I saw on guide videos. I thought I was going to have to put down the game entirely.

I still can't do it :( I swear I am pressing the button in the right time window, and it just doesn't work. I'm almost at the point where I can't progress without bounce and I'm going to have to stop playing. I even tried plugging in a new keyboard just in case. I'm on a Mac if that makes any difference...
