Daffodil Not Following - Misty Areas

In the misty areas (Obscure Canopy/Greymist Peaks) I cant get Daffodil to follow me. It wouldn't be an issue other than I need her to be able to cut pine logs. I go to the tree and just stand there waving because the darn cat just won't come.

Anyone know of a way to get her to reset positions or follow?

Be patient she will come.

I had this happen and then she seemed to have "zapped" towards me, which was weird but I guess it's the game's way of handling this issue.

This is still an ongoing issue - I shouldn't have to stand there waving for minutes (real time) for the cat.

Wait, Daffodil is hanging around in single player? I'm not sure if I'm going to play it single then...
For the record, I played this game with my sister as Daffodil and this way only. So I'm a little suprised.

Bumping this thread up. Still a problem after almost 4 years. Farming pine trees is boring thanks to this bug
UPDATE: Nevermind, Daffodil actually will follow you. You can notice because you will hear a whistle and the cat will float to you with a deflating balloon animation.
