if I start playing via XGP and switch to Steam later will my save persist

I can currently play Spiritfarer via the Xbox app, but since my pass expires in two weeks, I want to know if I can buy it on Steam and continue where I left off.

You can, but you'll need to do some manipulation first. Your save on XGP can be found by following the first 3 steps here:

Then you'll need to either rename it correctly or put it in the auto save folder of the steam version. This will be here:

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Thunder Lotus Games\Spiritfarer\AutoSaves

Thanks! On a side note: I couldn’t find where the crash log is located when using Game Pass (looking for it since it’s suddenly crashing on launch)

On Gamepass the log would be in C:\Users\(your pc name)\AppData\Local\Packages\44905ThunderLotusGames.40196900AE792_hbhkcnqstm4gr\TempState

What does it mean when that directory is empty? (as well as most others)

EDIT: Nevermind, just gonna play it on Steam and start over. Game is worth it. Thanks for the help so far.
