Gamebreaking Bug Encountering Quartz Dragon 2nd Time

When my ship bumps into the quartz dragon in the wild and stops, the game breaks. The only things I can do are ring the bell and fish-- all the NPCs go into buildings, the snake doesn't show his head and the game won't advance. I have already done the first event with him, this appears to be a random/ambient encounter. Once I was building when it happened and the game wouldn't allow me to exit the build menu, just removed all the UI and my character was stuck. Really enjoying the game, but this is a very frustrating bug because my save is stuck there, now.

same thing happened to me, think the issue is that the snake person is sleeping... Not sure how to solve it...

actually nevermind, just talk with the npc who is at the stern and she will ask if you want to help the dragon.

In my game there is no person at the stern, unfortunately :/

I was able to fix this by saving and quitting, then opening my save again.

Unfortunately has not worked for me-- trust me that was my first 30 attempts to resolve.

Hello! If Summer is still on the ship, you should be able to trigger the minigame by speaking with her at the front of the boat. Depending on where she is, she may be struggling to find a path there, so I would recommend checking on her first.

If she is no longer on your ship, you should be able to start the minigame by interacting with the door to her house.

There is a known issue where sometimes saving and quitting at a dragon location will cause the dragon to skip its cooldown period and respawn automatically when the game is reloaded. When this happens, the minigame starts but it is not possible to jump on the dragon's head. Does this sound like what you've encountered?
