Thread with Upgraded Loom?

Hi all! I'm trying to make linen threads with my upgraded loom, but it's only offering me the option to make cloth -- and since I'm out of thread, I can't do anything. How do I switch it back to thread?

When you go to your Loom, it should show both Linen fibre and wool fibre to be able to make more thread. Just remember to obtain linen seeds to get linen fibre.

How do I turn thread into cloth? One of NPC pals gave me some thread to weave into cloth, like a already had the tool to do it with. Normally when I'm missing something one of them nudges me in the right direction.

No luck yet. I have a loom so I can make thread.

You need to upgrade your loom. You should get the upgrade blueprint as part of one of the spirits' quests, and then you can use the blueprint station's upgrade option, highlight the loom, and select the upgrade to apply it, assuming you have the right resources.

Thanks. I've had a sheep penned in and have been feeding it for a few days. Is there a way to get wool or mutton from them?

The game is very good, but a lot of these things it will let you miss the direction you need to head in for quite a while.

You unlock the ability to shear sheep from a spirit's quest. Mutton doesn't exist in the game.

In general, if there's a resource you need, but haven't discovered yet, advancing the game by doing quests is the most likely way to get there - though you may need to explore and upgrade if you're caught up on quests.
