Not launching

So, everytime I try to play this it does the first time setup stuff then it closes and my profile box thing, goes green to indicate I`m in game and then quickly blue and this happens everytime.

I`ve tried the usual of restarting my computer, re-installing the game and verifying the files yet no result.

Any one have any ideas?

Its an issue within the steam program that causes this. Assuming your computer has more than the specs required for it and is compatible with the game there have been no reports of a fix or solution to the problem. Its better to just get it on xbox or somethin else or find a hacked version of it thats made to run without steam. I tried a hacked version of a game i own on steam that has had significant problems of all sorts and the nonsteam made hacked version of the steam only game has worked perfectly with no issues. Thats your best bet I'm afraid but I wouldn't encourage downloading illegal copies unless you actually own a copy of it you purchased yourself.

Is there any hope of steam patching this or is it going to be screwed forever?

Far as steam's concerned as they have stated through evidence on emails they have no intention on fixing a majority of things so I highly doubt it. If you know a good hacker who's good at making fixes for games that'd be the best bet you got.

Ca'mon they have to fix this the game is awesome we need to convince them somehow.

Well A) You need alot of people to create a stir so that steam will see it.
B) We don`t have alot of people.

Unless someone can make some sort of petition and get 5,000 people to sign it I don`t think anything will happen.

If by any chance there is a petition I will sign it.

Indeed. If there is one I find I'll post it here. You gotta be careful though steam/valve members are quite moody and picky bout such things or anything. They got ticked off and obnoxiously rude at me once when I tried to get a simple answer to a question I had. They will ban or remove your account if they get offended regardless of rules or standards. I've seen and heard it done its crazy man.

Well my bro told me that windows live was shut down [the main procceser of the game] so basically wasted 15 dollars and now we can't get a refund.

Just found out so i guess we arnt playing section 8 [LIKE ONE OF THE BEST GAMES EVER THAT WAS FRICKIN SHUT DOWN :P]

I been able to run multiplayer just fine when it does work and have had friends join it so its not really needed.

Well it doesn`t require the servers to run as you can host a server yourself or use a third party program sucg as gameranger.

Well it won't launch after it shows me product code after i click play then play after code it does nothing at all

Well maybe if Steam does by some miracle fix it, they might also purge all the bugs and allow it to be played hassle free.
