No GFWL profile -> nothing saved -> game now useless?
Used to love this game, but when I recently reinstalled it on a new (Windows 8) PC, could not install GFWL. As a result I have no GFWL profile on my new install, which means nothing is saved, not even control settings.
Is there any way I can transfer my GFWL profile from my old PC, or at least get a working profile on the new one?

GFWL is still working. I just got ths game, downloaded it, ran GFWL to reg the game, then played (win10 pro)
You can download the lates GFWL client here
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/pc/downloadclient
First remove any older versions you have, reboot your machine, install, then run the launcher.
If your firewll blocks the connection add as exception and try again.
If you can connect with your GFWL ( live, xbox and microsoft account you should be good to go.
I use windos vista, win7 and win10 and it runs fine on all with difrent firewalls.
Try not to create a new GFWL id because any games you have tied to it will not work on a difrent account.

People still even play this multiplayer? I really enjoy the gameplay but can never find multiplayer games.

Removing existing installs of GFWL and Marketplace was the key for me. Forgot how bad I was at this game, but still love it!

someone said that DLC are no longer downloading? is this true?

can you still play multiplayer in this game somehow? connect to tunngle and make LAN server or sth?

is there no info from publisher if he will take steps to integrate steam works into this game instead of GFWL?

Yes, DLC no longer functions, even though you can download it (I found out the hard way). Not sure about Tunngle, but if you gulp down the terror of GFWL, you can still make a game/find other games on the server list. The publisher, which I'm lead to believe is somehow Atari, seems to not want to do anything involving the game, so this is most likely destined to rot.

Also I bought the game at a discount and got the save game error...
Anyway I can circumvent this?

That moment when even on sale the games DLC cost more than the game, and you have to jump through insane hoops just to get everything installed/working right because of bs multi DRM reasons. I really want to get this, esp since it's only a couple of dollars right now. But knowing that I'll probably play the game about half the amount of time the initial setup would take between downloading installing and getting things setup properly. Yeah... Games die for a reason!

I installed GFWL restarted but he says he cannot connect/problems with client.

Eh. Mine was just fine. Downloaded the latest GFWL on their website. http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/pc/downloadclient

Ran it. Launched game. Updated a few here and there. Then Campaign / other game modes worked just fine.
Even if this has GFWL, the game is completely playable in my experience. I don't know about online. But it's still pretty fun with bots/ect. Campaign is neat too.

agreed, gamers need to stop supporting this kind of lax attention to repairing games in this situation yet still selling them...don't support the makers OR the sellers in situations like this.looks nice but no thanks.:csgoskull:

It worked completely fine. For me there was literally no issues. As long as you download the latest GFWL, you can't even go wrong. :be_medium:
