Pauldrons

Hi. Does anyone know how to unlock sergeant/captain pauldrons? When GFWL was up, i almost reached rank to get sergeant ones, but since it's dead...well, i can't. I know there is a way to unlock everything, but i don't need that :D. Any tips?

Unfortunately for the time being No. If u really need to get captain or sergeant pauldrons and not general ones, you need to get the GFWL save files from a known player who has unlocked those specific pauldrons through rank services from earlier days.

Hmm. So i need to find person with unlocks in content folder that has reached captain rank. That will be damn hard. Shame i don't know how to edit gpd files so i can do that myself. And maybe You know how can I change my gfwl name? The old one was random if I remember correctly and it's...damn weird xD.

Indeed it's pretty hard these days. Regarding the gfwl name change you will be able to do so through xbox live profile. In GFWL it's not possible due to microsoft points.

The save file doesn't include general pauldrons? My save seems to have them and I downloaded it from somewhere to get them.

As far as I know, save flies themselves does not determine what You have unlocked. Files in this localization do:

C:\Users\<Your Username Here>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\XLive\Content

So to unlock sergeant/captain/general pauldrons, You must have correct files there, especially the one that determines Your rank, because pauldrons depend on rank. If I knew how to do this, i would edit those files to set my rank to captain. But it seems solution won't be provided, because it's hard to find a person willing to send their files and I don't know how to edit those myself. So i guess my only option is to use guide posted on steam how to get everything. I know there is a discourd group that still play this game. Maybe i'll try to find them and ask for help.

Yes Somm unclockables are attached with ones GFWL account. So the save files of ones GFWL account is the key of unlocking pauldrons.

That's exactly what i meant. Because your above path directs to ones save files of their GFWL account. The edit option of the GFWL account save files isn't possible due to being encrypted pretty hard. I tried hex editing them but with no luck.

Unfortunately that is how it works now. Yes you can use the community guide I created to refer any further details regarding the game and i have put an external link in the guide for accessing unlockables in the game. (If you hope to share the link with others in social, remember to credit the owner of the file.)
