Minstrel epic footwear?

So... I've gone through the whole game with a Minstrel right up to the final fight (including Golbargh and Dungeon Lich), but I can not find the epic boots for this character.

Anyone know where they are located? It's blocking one of my last achievements for the base game and driving me a bit nuts.

EDIT: Two copies of the same epic chest piece dropped (see screenshot), so I'm a bit concerned this is a bug with the loot tables.

You can get the same item twice.

I don't know where the item spawns, Some things are bought by a vender, so check them all. If you missed it in the library or Dwarf dungeon then you can't go back.

I would just check the vendors, there are 3 venders on that one floor and that one has a bunch of higher lvl items. Also back to the basement one too as they get new gear, but i can't recall if they get a gold item or not. Run around 5th floor and up, and also check the 3rd floor again, it could be in a chest or something.

There is a ton of gold stuff in the dwarf level so if you have a save from that area before leaving you might wanna run around and check it to see if it's there. The thing will pop as soon as all items are equipped. It's also possible the item could be in the Unique quest area, there is a locked door that you need to break.

I'm sorry i can't be more helpful, but i've done that one, so i know it's possible. My best bet is you just missed a chest or vendor. Hold down the key that highlights things and just recheck.

Thanks for the response. I have saves for the library and dwarf underground, and have been pulling my hair out going over every *inch* of every floor.

I think the problem may be related to decisions I made in that save. I took the "evil" path on that save by beating up Barney and siding with the evil Dwarf usurper. Hopefully those decisions did not impact my ability to get the epic footgear for that character, as those choices change which loot you have access to.

Hmm, I don't think that item is behind either of those, but honestly i don't know. I'm pretty sure they spawn as which every join-able NPC you have. meaning if you get the boots someplace, the paladin and priestess would get them in the same place. But i certainly don't have the spot memorized. Perhaps someone playing through will notice this post and if they find them will let ya know. I do know they get some of that gold gear in the dwarf area. The dwarf has an Axe that is a quest choice, but everything else you just get at the end of a fight, chest, or vendor.

On lvl 3 there is a place that can be hard to find, you need to go out a door and sneak along a rail or something to get in a small hall. Ohh another place is in the Orc sausage room, there is a door that you can miss that opens up later. There is a puzzle that you need to do to open up a vault. Did you do that?

First off, thank-you @JC for being so helpful. Just knowing that the achieve dinged for you gave me the motivation to revisit every last merchant and every corner of every level again.

As it happens, I did miss a chest in the Big Anvil area. The screens below show the exact location:

That game has so much gold gear and i remember my Priestess getting a couple things in this last play. I knew there was something in the chest behind the Dwarf thrown at least but could not recall what.

Also, i know i missed that area that has the pedestal puzzle on 3 complete plays.. I never even knew it was there until my 4th, i remember that i got something good there too.


Anyway's glad it all worked out, now you get too look forward to the very cool items in back to the futon. :) Limis has a few nice things as well, but nothing like the last. I won't spoil anything.

sounds like you're into rpg's, but not into ghost/soul/undead type of things
Most fantasy based rpgs tend to add one aspect or another if not all of the above. Hard to recommend something with a complete zero of said things.

Maybe something from Zelda or Final Fantasy may interest you(I really enjoyed FF7)

Dungeon of Naheulbeuk is here in steam, and is actually a fun rpg with turn based combat. It's kind of a bard's tale game where the dialogue tends to be funny with comedic references to other game worlds.

Then there's Divinity Original Sin series, Wasteland 3,
Star Wars: knights of the old republic and kotor2: Sith Wars(these games are older and may require some tweaking to play)
