But my guess is....it's just to indicate the little difference from the base game. In the sense that, contrary to the game on PC, the console edition will immediatly contain from the start, the first DLC "The Ruin of Limis".
So instead of just naming the console game " The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk: The amulet of Chaos and Ruine of Limis " (Which would make an absurdely and ridiculously long name for nothing and confuse people more than it should be.), they just opted to call it "Chicken Edition". And also perhap because they thought it would be funny ?
Secondly, i've never hear of peoples complaining about not being able to use the word Rooster and all anywhere. That's strange.
I believe the devs purposely choosed the word Chicken for it original meaning. The game as a lot of "Chicken" reference in it. It's part of some sort of "meme" from the original universe this game is based on.
Lastly...about the "partial" nudity.....whaaaat ? Where the hell have you seen that! XD Ha ha ha ha ha!!!! Are we sure we are talking about the same game here ?
I can assure you, there is zero nudity in the Dungeon of Naheulbeuk!! ^_^
For the main reason that all 3D characters sprite created in this game were created with their cloth being " directly part" of their anatomy. So even if the devs or a player would wanted to, they couldn't remove the clothing of a character without directly tearing apart the main body of a character. Ha ha ha ha!!!
I can assure you, even if some character "bend over" in the game, there is nothing to see under their robe or cloth....because there is nothing there to begin with. >_<
Buuut, on the contrary, there IS some adult and mature theme scene and language innuendo in this game. Which is the reason why this game got tagged at least pegi 12 and above with the "sexual innuendo" tag to it.
Now....with all that said....will there be some specific change from the pc game made to the console game ? Maybe ? The devs certified me a long time ago that the console game content will be exactly 100% the same as the PC version game.
If some change are made, they would probably be more interface related one and perhap a little bit of graphic and coding compression wise. Because well.....a console is not a PC after all.
Other than that...maybe some version of the game might recieve some content modification/change...but that would be more to adapt to some country's society custom in regard to video game rules. And those change would only be made to version of the game destined to be sold in that country.
But the assurance that its not censored is nice. And the french forums were complaining of not using the C**K word since thats used a lot for roosters here on the forums. Pulling strings really.
Ah, so chicken is an in reference. seems fair. Im always looking out for stuff like this when you start getting console [Editions] or just ports in general. Hentai Shooter on switch cut out all the lewd stuff but in same ways thats to be expected but they probably didnt need to as the switch is VERY uncensored territory. So long as it passes with a M rating or below they allow it.
Anytime a game has a PS4 port however, i get VERY leary as sony is the most aggregious about it and devs dont usually do a seperate ps4 and switch version and just use the ps4 censored as a base.
Because i can assure you, the dev didn't make any "anatomical genital" to their sprite in the game. Ha ha ha. ^_^'
(Why would they waste time and ressource on making that since no character will ever be seen in this game naked or partially naked.)
I have seen up close their 3D model after extrating them from the file of the game and loading them in a 3D modeling program. All the sprite have only legs attach to their pelvis and that's it! There is nothing there. It's as flat and empty as a desert!
Well, some sprite characters (mostly female) were given thought some buttcheek on their behind, to give them some feminine form, but that's it. And all their main cloth are directly part of their body. (Only removable accesories, like armband, knee and shinpad, shouderpad are part of a seperate mesh. And also their hair/helmet.)
I assumed the DLC was included since the game is $10 more (digitally on Xbox at least) on console but I couldn't find any confirmation. Thanks for the info.
If so, that would be a very bad reason to not play this game.
the game is actually more fun/funny with the censor, and that is the truth.. It's kinda like south park on TV.
It's a small company, a small game and honestly worth it.. But if you wanna wait there is no big deal there either. I do it all the time.
I'll just add, My favorite RPG's are BG and BG2, Dragon age, Wasteland 2, and this.. I'd put it right up there with any. BG2 is probably the closest.
It does make it confusing as "edition" implies changes and calling it something more G rated like Chicken implies heavy censorship (to me) which made it more confusing.
But as im being told, its just "Console Edition with a funny name" and nothing else. I think it just needs a bullet point somewhere that says its the exact same as the pc version to clear it up.
The console version of the game is called "Chicken edition" because it is not totaly exactly like base version of the pc game. The console version auto include in it's price the first DLC "Ruin of Limis".
This is why they added the term chicken edition.
Chicken edition means that the DLC "Ruins of Limis" is embeded to the base game, that's all !
So if I download the Chicken Edition that is on the Xbox PC game pass, it's the same as the steam version, just with DLC included? (that means all the graphical settings as well.. right?)
Yes it is.
