Back to the Futon is the sequel to Ruins of Limis, so skipping Limis will make you miss some narrative elements and loot, and you won't be able to keep using your main game characters as the continuity will be broken.
Appart from that, there is no issues skipping Ruins of Limis, though I wouldn't recommend it if you like the main game.
Thanks for the info. Also, what about the Splat Jaypak’s Arenas dlc. I have the impression that this is a side game mode that can be played anytime, and it can help to level up your party members? Is this so? Also, does that mean that if I played the base game, through Back to the Futon, there would be no reason to go back & play the Splat dlc? At what point would it be best to play Splat Jaypak?
Splat Jaypack's Arenas is not related to the main story, so whatever you do in this DLC won't have any impact on it. If you liked the combat aspect of the game, you can play this DLC to get more of it.
As it's completly unrelated to the rest of the content, you can do it whenever you want, though I believe it's best to do before Back to the Futon because of the level cap.
Thanks again for the help. I just went ahead and picked up the season pass, so I will be good to go. I will keep an eye out for a sequel.
