Did you mean this fight? The Tavern Keeper in the inn sells Oblivion Potions that allow you to respec, they refresh to a stack of 8 after each chapter.
Take down one of the Zapper guys first, Use all your heavy hitters and ranged on one to take him out of the battle in the first round, or start at second. After he drops, use dwarf to tank the other.
Use heavy hitters to take down snipers, Or sneak your theif, Or use ranged sniper attacks, and freeze bombs.
Once you drop one of the zappers, the rest should go fairly easy. Watch out for the traps.
Hah, I did that...I finally got my ranger and dwarf to the back and they just annihilated the snipers no problem...was way satisfying and ultimately saved me from the ton of damage they can do from across the dang room. Was a great strategy, thanks!
PS, the game uses a random seed, meaning if you fight the same way every time it will have the exact same outcome. To change the outcome you have to use different tactics.
So what this means is if you take your barb and attack a minion and you miss, if you reload the exact same thing will happen. So to change it up perhaps you move your barb and then use fortify, that changes the start and changes the number in the seed.
This forum is pretty helpful though so if you run into trouble again just ask. Enjoy!
I've been trying to stay away from mid-fight reloads... I would do that with XCom, on account of losing your guy forever if he died? But here it's been kind of fun to end up with just like...your Pally...at half health, struggling to chase down the last two enemies. So far its only happened once, but to just BARELY win a fight almost has me jumping out of the chair after that last, finishing sword strike or whatever connects.
In fact, I'd suggest that for anyone who hasn't tried it...to just let the fight play out. Sometimes it can mean an amazing come from behind victory you didn't see coming...it adds a lot of flavor to the game IMO when every move really counts. My two cents anyway.
Absolutely, huh? A very real sense of accomplishment. This is one of those games that makes me think of how much better this stuff is than watching TV or something. The kind of strategizing...its like chess, right? Really have to put some thought into this stuff...makes it that much harder to go sit and watch TV with my griping girlfriend lol
Hey because you seem so helpful I figured I'd ask you then start a whole other thread...you know those chests you come across here and there that are behind a gate? Like a gate just big enough to go around said chests? How do you get to the chests?
Edit:And never mind, finally found a lever for this one =P
Yes, levers are hidden in the area, they are never that far away but can be hard to see. If you press your middle mouse button it highlights everything that you can click. It's a good way to find loot as well as sometimes the dungeons are dark and it can be hard to see.
The game really needs torches!
