Door riddle - whats a box but not a box

I cant think of what the item is that has no lid etc but contains gold.
I thought I would have found a item but I am on a quest that says i need to go in the room.
It it obvious and I am a dip-sht. or is it an item I get much later in the game?

Worth straight Googling [looking up the puzzle without mentioning game in search] when this game throws a curveball like that without any hints around; they have a number of references in here, and if you just searched the riddle on its own, you could find the answer [the whole thing is lifted from The Hobbit]. Hopefully this helps!

Was there anything in the (egg) room? I found a cellar that I can't open and a single statue that rotating doesn't do anything. Is there a 2nd part to this later?

The statue is part of a mystery that so far no one has managed to solve as far as i know it: there is one on every floor and they don't seem to do anything. Someone from the developer team on the french forum said they are the biggest mystery in the game.

The cellar will be opened in other quests.

The rotating statues solution is found in a book very late on, but it's very straight foward, it straight up tells you where to point each one.

The mistery is only before finding the book, after finding you just follow directions

Edit: solving the statue puzzle is by far the easiest part of this secret, I advise you come prepared for what follows

There is one statue inside that room but there is one of those on each floor.
