Chap 2 Bussiness Partners
OMG im gonna be on this forever, never gonna reach chap 3, considering dry planks only sell for 300 euros each, and in order to keep racking up the money to pay off your uncle, you need to buy more forests, which take away your cash. then theres the equipment you need to buy, so how long does it take to pay off your greedy uncle

i said the same thing with them only letting you plant new trees after you pay off your uncle and they didnt even fix the other log drop off points. they could have at least added something you can make with the planks first or make missions pay more.

I'm still paying the bastard too. I almost had him paid off and my PC went down so I had to get a new one and had to start over. Only new equipment I have bought is the flatbed truck. I got about 50,000 saved up so far.

We'll see what we can do there!

Don't forget that there are many more items to sell;
  • Dry planks ~300 per crate
  • Chipboards ~260 per crate
  • Bark ~440 per ton
  • Cooked (upgraded) foods
Get the greenhouse started & just check every so often for humidity levels. Once plants grown, cook the foods & sell for a profit. Same for fish.

Take advantage of James loaning his truck to you for moving many of the crates to the large mill complex. Note: do not sell the wood chips, since they are much more profitably used for the chipboards. It takes 200kg wood chips for each crate of chipboards. And the wood chips are not removed from the storage bin (next to dryers) until the crate is actually made.

As far as using james truck to move pallets around, once you finish those 2 missions you cant use the truck anymore, hence you are forced to buy it. and i do have the greenhouse built, its loaded with zucs. dunno what i can cook with those

Hell im not even close to that, i was close to the 50k point, but bought the flatbed, and a forest to see if i can speed up plank making, but it still takes 10 days to dry them, quite along time ( game time anyway ) wonder if you can just sleep for a week the another just to get them dryed, all my dryers are full

You cook on the stove in the kitchen. To make certain recipes you must buy cookbooks from different sellers which are located in their other tab not the food tab. Once you buy the cookbook you must read it then you can sell it back to the vendor and recoup some of the money you just spent.

Yes you can only use James truck while the quest is active, but many players have found that he doesn't seem to be very particular about how long you take to do the quest.

I build up a stockpile of planks & chipboards to haul to the Large mill complex. So when have James truck to use, I can make quite a few loads to haul.

Yes you can use the "sleep a week" to jump ahead in time for the dryers. I believe some say they sleep a week + 3 days, then the loads are dry.

I think they really need to increase the prices, tbh, hell bark is worth more than dried planks.

I find if you're busy with the logging, you can build up wet planks way faster then the driers can dry them. If that starts happening, you can take the wet planks to the market and just sell them as is. You don't get as much money per unit, sure, but you also don't have to wait 10 days for them to dry and the driers seems to be the main bottleneck in the planks manufacturing process. At a certain point, it's more profitable to just take the wet planks to the market and just move the stock, however it is then to just leave it piling up on you.

I like to keep enough planks on hand to fill the driers that are about to become available soon, but no more then that, as that gives no benefits. The wet planks still give a decent 1050 per load, which helps get the debt down a bit faster. I also chose to focus on buying better equipment, which also helps speed things up.

I got the better tractor and log trailer as soon as I could afford them, and that really speeds things up. The tractor can go 10-15 kph faster then the crappy old tractor, and the trailer can carry at least twice as many logs as the old crappy one can. Between them and focusing on the nearby lots first, I've been able to get almost enough logs stockpiled in the water to keep my mill busy with them for almost 24 hours straight!

Also, the better bulk carrier trailer helps with hauling the bark more efficiently.

Not really. Per log you gain:
  • 70kg Bark
  • 25kg Saw dust
  • 0.5 Planks
Selling price for Bark is $440/ton, which takes 28.6 logs to acquire.
From these same logs you will get 14 plank crates that are worth $4,200

So once you include all the products for sale:
  • 14 Plank crates = 4,200
  • 1 load of Bark = 440
  • 3.6 OSB crates = 930
You will net a total of 5,570 funds for everything by the time you have the one load of bark ready to haul to market.

If you visit the trade stores each day and buy all them out of there veggies, milk, eggs, mushrooms, fish and honey. You can cook them making the cookbook stuff first and all the extra make canned and resell everyday. I'm making around 12 to 1500 a day just doing that.

where and how do i sell those crates?
i tryed to sell some chipboards at the hardware store but the game wouldn´t let me sell the chipboards at all.
Merck Jul 18, 2020 @ 1:35pm
There is a large mill complex (Lumber Products Market) to the south west of the home place. You cross a curved bridge on the way to this mill. Once inside there is a dump pit that will take Bark & Wood chips, or you can haul logs, planks or OSB (chipboard) to be sold here.

This guide has a map location & some images of selling locations:

NOTE: The wood chips storage bin (on side next to dryers) does not empty to make OSB (chipboard crates) until the actual crate is made. It takes 200kg wood chips per crate. If you use ES (Engineer's Sight) inside the Chip board production plant, it tells you how many can be made. But the wood chips don't actually get used until the crate is created at the production plant. So in other words, don't sell your wood chips, since they can be used to make OSB, which is worth more than selling just the wood chips alone.
