Any real perks to fixing resorts and random buildings?

Are there real perks to fixing resorts (the icons with umbrellas) and random buildings Other than just being neighborly?

If your talking about the rest areas then you could test out the different roofing materials to see which you like the best for your own buildings when you upgrade. In the future maybe some social points? Just a guess. Maybe someone else knows more.

I just come across random buildings while exploring around that need repairs and lets me repair them but they don't appear on the map as an icon or quest it's just a random barn in the middle of nowhere.

So far I haven't recieved any money or social points after finishing a barn or anything.

In fact I remodeled the whole estate property up the road from Lily the property on the dirt road just before you turn onto the main road....Some of you might know this property as the quest where you're asked to delivery fresh baked pies to a property all the way across the map

You will only receive money and social points for repairing or upgrading a building in the world if you have previously received a quest that asks you to do so. If you just go around repairing random buildings, you won't get anything out of it.
You have probably noticed that almost every building in the world is in a more or less degraded state. That's because later, as development progresses, there will be quests for a number of buildings.
So my advice would be: don't touch the buildings until you are asked to. There are plenty of other things you can spend your time with.
