Aside from selling the dried planks, the chipboard and bark, you can also do the quests for people (repair quests and some of the grass-cutting missions pay decently) or do the sheep-finding quests to get the seeds to grow the veggies in your greenhouse and cook the better recipes and sell them.
Collect herbs and make & sell the shampoo and skin cream.
Buy a full set of chickens, collect and can the eggs every day. (Cows and sheep take much longer to break even)
It all adds up, but yes, until you get the furniture factory, gaining cash is VERY slow.
As for how to get the 190K for the factory, there are a few ways. Do sheep missions to get seeds for the greenhouse and plant them to get veggies. Get chickens and cows, you can harvest a ton of eggs and milk every day. Buy the cookbooks from vendors around the map to unlock recipes. Then go and gather mushrooms and herbs. You can then turn them into food and potions in your kitchen and sell them for a few thousand each day.
As for planks, they are a great source of income. They take about a week to dry in the dryer. Fill the dryers with planks and then press enter on the bed to sleep for a week. Give it a couple more days if the planks are not ready yet. Use your engineer sight to look at the pallets and check the "Humidity" value. It has to be 0 to be considered "dry".
Whatever you do, it's still going to be quite a long grind to get 190K together from nothing, but after you get the factory, you can make about 100K a day.
You can buy animals from NPCs around town. Talk to them if they have a coop or barn or sheep wandering about, it's a good chance they can sell you some. The chickens and sheep require nothing. Chickens produce eggs every morning, you can collect them from the boxes in the barn. Getting a rooster will produce more chickens, and if your coop is full, the chicks will be sold for cash. You can sheer sheep once they regrow their wool every so often. Cows, however, require hay. You can use the grass cutter or the rideable mower to mow grass and collect the hay left on the ground, then go inside your barn, open your inventory and you can add the hay to the barn. As long as the cows have hay, you can milk them every day.
There are a few vendors around town, some are marked on the map, other you'll have to find. Some of them have cookbooks, buy one, read it to learn the recipies and you can sell the book back to them.
You can also sell everything to vendors, just select "care to trade" in conversation. Make sure to select the right category at the top. Books, potions and some other stuff will be on the "other" tab.
