Business partners quest and a question about planks
Hi to all :steamhappy:

So for quite a long time now I have had this quest and still have not got it completed. I was wondering if there's anything I can do so I can speed up the quest as I'd love to get it done already. I read about others saying purchase the furniture store in the south west area of the map and once I've got that then I make decent profit. my problem with that though is I don't have nearly the amount of money to purchase it. so what is the best way to make money? sell planks?

Speaking of planks, my second question is how do I get my planks to dry? I put a few pallets full of planks into those plank dryers and then did a few quests and side quests and when I got back they didn't say they were dry? I have a mixture of pine and spruce planks.

Thank you :steamhappy:

The planks in the dryers dry about 12% per in-game day. Don't expect anything in this game to be speedy.

Aside from selling the dried planks, the chipboard and bark, you can also do the quests for people (repair quests and some of the grass-cutting missions pay decently) or do the sheep-finding quests to get the seeds to grow the veggies in your greenhouse and cook the better recipes and sell them.

Collect herbs and make & sell the shampoo and skin cream.

Buy a full set of chickens, collect and can the eggs every day. (Cows and sheep take much longer to break even)

It all adds up, but yes, until you get the furniture factory, gaining cash is VERY slow.

Go for the furniture factory first by all means. You can pretty much print money with it. (Unlock the furniture blueprints by doing missions.) You can pay off uncle in a couple of days.

As for how to get the 190K for the factory, there are a few ways. Do sheep missions to get seeds for the greenhouse and plant them to get veggies. Get chickens and cows, you can harvest a ton of eggs and milk every day. Buy the cookbooks from vendors around the map to unlock recipes. Then go and gather mushrooms and herbs. You can then turn them into food and potions in your kitchen and sell them for a few thousand each day.

As for planks, they are a great source of income. They take about a week to dry in the dryer. Fill the dryers with planks and then press enter on the bed to sleep for a week. Give it a couple more days if the planks are not ready yet. Use your engineer sight to look at the pallets and check the "Humidity" value. It has to be 0 to be considered "dry".

Whatever you do, it's still going to be quite a long grind to get 190K together from nothing, but after you get the factory, you can make about 100K a day.

Hi thanks for your reply. I now have a few more questions. The greenhouse I put down about 6 or 7 pumpkins and activated but the water sprinkler only lasts about 2 seconds then auto turns off? How exactly do I get chickens and cows and do I require anything when it comes to milking the cows and chickens laying eggs? When you say buy cook books from vendors do you mean general stores? When I've made the food and potions, how exactly do I sell?

Look at the dial on the sprinkler. You have to keep the humidity in the middle (green) zone. Turn on the sprinkler and let it run until the arrow points to the green then turn it off. If you went over, open a window or two until it goes back down. Check the gauge every few days and adjust if necessary.

You can buy animals from NPCs around town. Talk to them if they have a coop or barn or sheep wandering about, it's a good chance they can sell you some. The chickens and sheep require nothing. Chickens produce eggs every morning, you can collect them from the boxes in the barn. Getting a rooster will produce more chickens, and if your coop is full, the chicks will be sold for cash. You can sheer sheep once they regrow their wool every so often. Cows, however, require hay. You can use the grass cutter or the rideable mower to mow grass and collect the hay left on the ground, then go inside your barn, open your inventory and you can add the hay to the barn. As long as the cows have hay, you can milk them every day.

When you say buy cook books from vendors do you mean general stores? When I've made the food and potions, how exactly do I sell?
There are a few vendors around town, some are marked on the map, other you'll have to find. Some of them have cookbooks, buy one, read it to learn the recipies and you can sell the book back to them.
You can also sell everything to vendors, just select "care to trade" in conversation. Make sure to select the right category at the top. Books, potions and some other stuff will be on the "other" tab.
