I feel you. This was one of my low points as well. I slept for weeks and made food, then bought the factory first. Once you have the factory money is easy. Others have shared their tips for making money here. Can't hurt to take a look.
Otherwise it would have just been too much for me and i would have given up playing. It is slightly easier when you can make furniture rather than relying on cooking and selling wood planks for tiny amounts.
I wish there was a quest in Chapter 2 that gave you access to the furniture factory to help you pay off your uncle.
