How do I buy new chainsaws?

I checked Jack and Eric and both don't have any chainsaws besides the standard one. Do I need to do something else first?

it is complicated as the F1 is not used for it so if you buy a new 1 you need to go into your inventory and double click it all the time so just keep the old 1 unless the Devs does it via coding which they should have but not working only double clicking will make it work every single time you want to use it

If it is a tool you can just assign it to F1 by hovering over it in the inventory and press F1 or any other function key from F1 to F10.

However if it is like the gardening tools (shovel etc) then those are not in the tools section and then it is indeed the only way to go in your inventory every time. Not sure though if it is a bug that those tools are categorized as others instead of tools.

As far as I know you don't get access to the new chainsaws until you complete chapter three. By that time I did not need it. Just another game decision that made no sense to me.

There are >2 stores available. Some of them also carry the new model (I don't remember, which ones though as I've not yet bothered to buy it). Afaik there's no min. chapter limit to buying any of the hand tools.

Stick with the old one and put the extra cash to more important things like paying off Uncle or buying the furniture factory because when I had enough to by the Ponsee Cobra I never used it again.

Plus the new chainsaw only speeds up cutting a tree by about 10% maybe 20%.
