Meanwhile, I can report that after processing ALL of Oliver's, Isaac's, and Sasha's logs into planks, you should come out with 39 pallets of planks. This will be enough to fill up all your driers and have 7 left over for your first cabin building job with James.
You should also wind up with, counting the sawdust already in the sawdust silo at the start of the game, 23 pallets of plywood, enough for three loads of 7 pallets each when doing your first hauls with James' platform truck before you build his cabins.
If you've gotten the tipper wagon from Connor also, and haul off a full load of 4,250 kg of bark, AND wait for your first 32 pallets of planks to fully dry and haul them off with James' platform truck, and save every last EUR you earn, by the time you are done with James' quest and he pays you you should have nearly 21,000 EUR, plenty to go and buy your own Platform Truck with right away (12,000 EUR + 24,000 SP) and still have around 9,000 EUR left afterwards to then use to buy your first forest area so you can get right back to cutting and processing so you can get the driers filled back up ASAP so you can then start working towards buying the Lindtrac 90 tractor and the Grapple Log Trailer.
I do not recommend paying off ANY of your debt to the uncle until you have bought the Platform Truck and one of the new tractors and the Grapple Boom Trailer. You want to upgrade from Oliver's tractor and Isaac's trailer ASAP.
Agreed. Waiting on planks to dry is the biggest bottleneck in the game presently, and a solution to which needs to be found before, for instance, they truly implement you being forced to use dried planks for rebuilding and upgrading by likely making it so you cannot put wet planks in your personal inventory.
They would have to make map changes to give us more driers, and that would break current savegames, so I think the best thing to do while maintaining backwards compatibility with savegames would be to make it possible to upgrade drying time of the driers by rebuilding the dryer building with new planks, using present game mechanics, but wouldn't make a lot of sense realistically.
Or, such upgrades to the driers would really become available after they finally make the workshop functional and you become able to unlock level 2 of 'Mechanic', you could then use level 2 of 'Mechanic' to refurbish the driers and get them working much better while also probably refurbishing the rest of the lumber mill's processing equipment.
