hi mate food you can buy in any general store and gas in any gas stations press m button to find the closest one.

when i go to a gas station or a general store i'm unable to buy what i need and i'm wanting to upgrade my log trailer but i'm running in to same problem

Use a vehicle at the gas station then you got 2 options refuel Vehicle or but bulk for farm it will cost over 1k to buy bulk that is the bottom choice and for food you can grow in the greenhouse or buy at all the general stores just make sure to select then talking there is 3 options tools food and equipment that is the Drone

Don't buy food, you'd waste quite a lot of money with that. Fix your greenhouse and grow your own vegetables there. There is already a couple of seeds available in the greenhouse but you need to fix it first because the vegetables will grow much better then. There is a quest where you can choose if you want to be paid for the repair job or if you'd rather like to get some seeds as a reward. I'd strongly recommend to choose the seeds. With those you can grow vegetables for several months.
Well, it takes some time until the vegetables in the greenhouse are fully grown and ready for harvest so in the meantime you need something to eat, right? You remember those apple trees growing all around your house? Spoiler alert: there is quite a lot of apples growing there - ready to pick them up and ready to eat.
There is another quest which enables you to collect mushrooms and strawberries in the woods. This alone gives you enough food, even more than you'll need to keep yourself well fed. So you see, there is no need for buying food at a store. Save your money, you'll need it.

Don't forget to go to your stove inside the house and can the apples. Turns 1 apple into apple jam and takes it from 10 nutrition to 30.

When you get to any gas station remember to drive around until there is an indicator to "Enter" the station. You can buy gas then once you do this

Also there are two prices for fuel. Regular price & bulk price. The bulk fuel is less expensive, but have to buy in larger quantities. This is prototypical for many operations to have their own fuel storage on the farm or business. Fuel companies deliver bulk fuel & much better prices than retail pumps.

Take advantage of this to fill up your storage tank back at the farm workshop. Also remember that the game starts you out with a small amount of fuel in your own storage tank. Drive under that canopy for the workshop until you get the prompt to "refuel".

Open your inventory. Navigate to the "food" tab.
You should see all the food inside your inventory.
Select any of them (mouseclick). Below the inventory grid you see some buttons, first one is "eat". You could also simply double click any food type in your inventory to eat it.
