This game runs horribly
I'm running an RTX 2060, Ryzen 7 1700, and 16 GB of Corsair Vengeance at 2666 MHz, There is no way in hell I should be getting like 40 FPS. My GPU is only getting around 40% utilization when I look in task manager, and no matter what I do nothing fixes it, This issue has pretty much destroyed my ability to play the game and enjoy it since I consistently go from like 100+ FPS by looking in one direction to like 40 when I look in another direction. If I wanted to watch a slide show into my school work folder, this is completely unacceptable. This game has been out for like a month, issues like this should absolutely not be happening. Especially since it's not even a brand new release, or even early access. This release is looking almost as bad as the Warner Bros Batman Arkham Knight PC Release.

GTX 1080, 32gb RAM and an I7 and I am stuttering around the part where your sisters apartment is located hovering around 25-28 fps. Turned everything to low, vsync off...made no difference whatsoever.

Then at the chase scene I was caught numerous times at the first hurdle because my jump key took ages to actually jump.

Eventually i got on the train but at the start of the next level I fell numerous times trying to jump off the train because the lag between hitting the button and actually moving is ridiculous.

Same problems on my GTX 1070 combined with AMD FX 8350 at the third chapter of this game (searching for Ada's cabin) as well as in chapter four. Framerate about 25-30 - unplayable, even with settings on LOW. The cpu- and gpu usage is around 5-20 percent. Since the release on epic last year and my complainings to the support via email, the development didn't change anything.

Update from Sep. 2020): After rebuild of my system to a Ryzen 7 2700x ( B450 Mainboard, 16 GB RAM and SSDs) the game ran smoothly until chapter 4 at some point. I look forward to the other chapters.

I have similar problems, the game runs slow (I don't know the framerate). With the first chase in chapter 8 (beyond the garden) the player has to pull a handle upstairs, go downstairs and pull a second handle to open the next door but then Rose (the character of the player) is killed every time before reaching that door. During that chase everything is in slow-motion, very slow. I cannot get beyond this because Rose is killed every time. This is a deal-breaker for me.

My hardware:
GPU nvidia GTX 1080 Ti
CPU Intel 6700K (Skylake) quadcore running at 4 GHz with hyperthreading enabled
32 GB Corsair DDR-4
ASUS Maximus VIII Ranger motherboard
SSD Samsung 850 Pro (sata)
Windows 10 pro 64-bit

I was running a GTX 970 and specifically for this game I went for a better card. I knew I was going to use it with other games too but really wanted to see this game shine. Brand new GTX 2060 KO Ultra.....Max settings still getting slight stuttering. Why? Googling solutions now but why?

Yup, that's why I refunded, they've shown 0 interest in fixing their game, so I suggest everyone do the same if they can.

I think it's a bit too late for me but I may try if I can't get it up and running.

Update, clean install of OS, steam, game, etc with latest drivers for 2060 KO Ultra. Cloud saving didn't work and so now I have to start all over. Tried playing 1st level again. Walked out of my cabin and tried opening door of cabin next to mine....The game froze. Jiggle the handle to try and open door and it froze. F this game. I want my money back. I can run all games high settings no issues. Just this one is causing issues. Reported cloud saving bug on 8/17 with no acknowledgements yet. WTF was I sold?

The game didn't run horribly on mine, but the developers didn't seem to put any effort into making lower res graphics for the puzzles. I had the game on defaults and didn't realize the first puzzle (behind the painting) had clear symbols until I looked it up on YouTube. Then I cranked the graphics up and realized I could see it clearly.

I did have one spot, during a chase scene, where the game lagged so much that I knew I was going to die (this was after I cranked the graphics up). The good part of that is that I knew where to go on my 2nd time through the chase scene (unlike other chases that took 3 or more runs to figure out).

That was one of many annoyances of this game.

I think someone posted this site in another thread. It's a site that might have some helpful information.

Here is the key piece of info that I thought was most relevant to a lot of people with issues. It was under "Frame Rate Drops"
"Multiple reviews mention FPS drops on high-end hardware exceeding the recommended system requirements." So people with the 1070 or 1060 may not have issues. Also explains why my 970 worked better with the game.
I have this game on epic store and runs horrible too with I7 3960X@4.5GHZ + GTX 1070 + 24gb ram@2133mhz. Much frames drops to 40 fps...

Just took another run at this game with high settings and no anti-aliasing. And seemed ok in the first part when on the boat. Loaded the first level when you board and as soon as I walked up toward the ladder game froze for 5 seconds, checked graphic options and anti-aliasing was up to 4x again. Brought it down to zero and tried moving around. No such luck, everything was stuttering and lagging bad. Quit immediately. Gonna look up what I paid for this and just post I want my money back until I get it or even Steam credit. This is awful. It's literally unplayable for me.

commenting to confirm that the frame drops are bad. still experiencing some on lowest quality. 16gb ram, 4gb gpu, 3.9ghz cpu. fullscreen and v-sync don't seem to make a difference. at least it was free on epic.

Word Drew5190, word...I apparently got it discounted so I'm out 13.99 at the moment but hoping I can get a refund somehow.

I cannot even get this to start, got it for free from EGS, it gets past the first three company logo cutscenes then bricks my PC so I have to do a hard reboot. Tried it 3 times and uninstalled it.
